This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and manage Asurion's strategy for creating parts supply across OEM-adjacent factories, refurbishment operators, recycling entities, and secondary market channels.
• Foster direct relationships with supply partners in Asia and domestic markets.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new supply sources while ensuring quality, compliance, and scalability.
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of Asian supply ecosystems, particularly in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong.
• Travel to China and other Asian manufacturing and refurbishment hubs for supplier evaluations, negotiations, and market exploration.
• Formulate sourcing policies, preferred supplier frameworks, and strategies for supply continuity.
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and OEM relationship managers, including teams from Apple and Google, to ensure parts-sourcing compliance.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to regulations, contracts, reputation, geopolitics, OEM policies, and trade compliance.
• Oversee SCaaS parts supply creation, including SKU sourcing strategies and supply relationships.
• Translate demand signals into comprehensive supply strategies considering cost, availability, and compliance factors.
• Develop scalable supplier frameworks and commercial structures.
• Set functional direction and autonomously resolve complex sourcing, compliance, and market challenges.
• Influence stakeholders in Repair Operations, Planning, Legal, Quality, Finance, OEMs, suppliers, and legal counsel.
• Establish operational discipline through supplier performance tracking, commitment management, qualification pipelines, issue escalation, and market intelligence.
• Provide executive-level assessments of supply risks and sourcing recommendations.
• Coordinate with repair operations and parts procurement teams in the Philippines.
• Over 10 years of experience in global sourcing, parts procurement, or supply chain within mobile devices, consumer electronics, or refurbishment/remanufacturing sectors.
• Proven track record of sourcing OEM, NDOS, refurbished, or recycled components from Asian supply chains through direct relationships with factories and operators.
• Experience in sourcing across various device categories, geographies, and supplier types, holding program- or enterprise-level responsibilities.
• Familiarity with working alongside Legal and Compliance on OEM agreements, parts-sourcing policies, or cross-border trade compliance.
• Capability to influence stakeholders in Planning, Operations, Legal, and Finance without holding direct management authority.
• Established, current relationships with OEM factories, refurbishment operators, recycling/harvesting firms, and secondary-market participants in China, especially in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong.
• Recognized credibility in the Asian mobile-device and components market.
• Ability to identify sourcing opportunities beyond standard procurement channels.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently to China and Asian markets.
• Skill in applying commodity pricing, OEM supply signals, and refurbishment-market intelligence to sourcing decisions.
• Strong negotiation abilities in relationship-centric markets.
• Proficiency in assessing part quality and yield potential within supplier or factory environments.
• High-level proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and procurement/supply chain management tools.
• Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated autonomy, executive communication skills, cross-functional influence, and the ability to build trust-based relationships.
• A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field is required.
