This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Take ownership and manage essential business processes within Qualus' designated ownership domains.
• Lead, train, coordinate, and oversee overhead transmission engineering operations.
• Act as the functional leader for the service line.
• Oversee the financial aspects of the service line.
• Cultivate relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Implement industry best practices in engineering and develop training programs for staff.
• Collaborate with other service lines to secure bids, complete projects, cross-train personnel, and exchange best practices.
• Provide technical guidance to engineering teams and senior management.
• Establish goals and strategies that align with organizational objectives.
• Design and create drawing packages for bidding, construction, as-built, and submittal purposes.
• Ensure the service line is equipped with the necessary software, hardware, and field tools.
• Formulate and enforce engineering policies, practices, and adherence to QA/QC standards.
• Enhance cost efficiency while promoting employee satisfaction and engagement.
• Assist in defining project scopes, budgets, and timelines.
• Stay informed on regulations, laws, standards, and best practices relevant to electric transmission engineering.
• Offer technical direction and support to colleagues.
• Aid in business development and pursuit initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer.
• At least ten (10) years of engineering experience, ideally in utility infrastructure design.
• Minimum of three (3) years of management experience leading engineering teams.
• Extensive understanding of engineering design within the service line and related areas.
• Advanced proficiency in relevant design software.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering principles and practices, including computer applications.
• Comprehensive understanding of construction field techniques.
• In-depth knowledge of surveying techniques, practices, and procedures.
• Solid grasp of safe working practices concerning electric transmission lines.
• Thorough knowledge of project management practices and financial aspects.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and standard business applications.
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and with stakeholders.
• Capability to plan and execute tasks within set timelines.
• Proficient in analyzing problems and generating strategic and functional solutions.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% annually.
