Director of Telco Strategy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Establish and oversee the long-term vision for the Core Network, SM-DP+, and MVNX roadmap.

• Expand telecom infrastructure in key markets.

• Set high standards for premium travel connectivity quality, measurement, and competitive edge.

• Design wholesale cost frameworks to minimize data termination costs across more than 30 carrier partnerships.

• Model and implement changes in infrastructure architecture to enhance quality.

• Create compliant deployment strategies for markets with permanent roaming limitations and local regulatory requirements.

• Utilize telemetry from over 20 million users to assess geographic network performance and identify carrier degradation.

• Lead and develop a globally distributed team of network architects, analysts, and operations leaders.

• Supervise three direct reports responsible for network architecture, quality, and strategic initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of senior-level experience in telecom strategy, cellular network engineering, roaming architecture, or MVNO/MVNX strategy.

• Extensive technical expertise in GSMA SGP.22, eUICC Remote SIM Provisioning, multi-IMSI management, and 4G/5G core networks (Diameter, GTP, IPX).

• A proven history of successfully leading initiatives across Product, Operations, and commercial teams.

• Demonstrated ability to build and lead cross-functional, globally distributed teams.

• Experience managing forecasting, business operations, or commercial planning in a data-intensive setting, including demand and capacity planning, unit economics, and reporting cadence.

• A degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.

• Familiarity with GSMA SGP.32 (eSIM IoT), 5G Standalone roaming (SEPP/N32), or SM-DP+ migrations.

• Practical knowledge of IMS architecture, VoLTE/VoWiFi roaming, TAP/RAP settlement, and roaming steering.

• Experience with direct commercial negotiations with Tier-1 carriers and global roaming hubs.
