Director of Self Serve

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the commercial performance for Paddle’s self-serve business line, overseeing everything from acquisition to adoption, revenue generation, and net retention.

• Develop the commercial strategy for self-serve and coordinate with Finance and Product to create an actionable plan.

• Manage activation, onboarding, lifecycle nurturing, in-product experiences, and time-to-value.

• Conduct structured discovery and experimentation to enhance the self-serve experience.

• Define the customer profile and work alongside Demand Generation on targeting and a unified ideal customer profile (ICP).

• Coordinate cross-functional workstreams and influence the roadmaps of Product, Engineering, and Risk.

• Establish a consistent business cadence that emphasizes priorities and impact.

• Develop partner integrations and be responsible for commercial outcomes sourced from partners.

• Design and implement experimentation, tools, and tracking for funnel codification, activation, conversion, and time-to-value.

• Leverage AI to enhance speed and quality where applicable.

• Shape the team as the self-serve function expands.

• Manage self-serve pricing and packaging in collaboration with Finance to ensure sustainable growth.


⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in a product-led growth (PLG) or self-serve model within a rapidly growing tech organization.

• Proven track record of building and managing a self-serve funnel, distinct from sales-assisted or enterprise approaches.

• Responsibility for achieving revenue targets.

• Experience in overseeing a revenue line, channel, or market segment.

• Strong grasp of unit economics.

• Product management mindset when it comes to prioritization and experimentation.

• Ability to translate data analysis into decisive commercial actions.

• Strong critical thinking skills with a knack for challenging assumptions.

• Background in leading intricate, cross-functional programs.

• Capability to influence the roadmaps of Product, Engineering, and Risk.

• Established credibility with senior stakeholders, including at the executive level.

• Competence to operate both strategically and in detail.

• Practical application of AI, such as dynamic onboarding, predictive scoring, and real-time segmentation.
