This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Co-manage the product management team and enhance the product management discipline.
• Enable product managers to effectively lead their respective teams.
• Advocate for excellence in product management while upholding organizational best practices and standards.
• Supervise project staffing and provide guidance to project teams in achieving their objectives.
• Assist in the recruitment and onboarding process for product managers.
• Mentor and coach product managers through regular one-on-one meetings, offering feedback and professional development support.
• Direct the complete range of product and project management activities.
• Engage in user research, analysis, synthesis, and agile product development.
• Manage project teams and coordinate activities among team members.
• Foster product-thinking capabilities across the team and the State.
• Collaborate with government department and agency teams on roadmaps and product strategy.
• Disseminate product practices externally and keep abreast of developments in civic tech and product innovation.
• Report directly to the Chief Innovation Officer and work in collaboration with the current Director of Product, initiative leads, and cross-functional directors.
• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in agile product management.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in managing people and providing product leadership.
• Proven experience in guiding the complete product development cycle from concept to launch and ongoing iteration.
• Experience in managing and scaling a product team effectively.
• Expertise in developing and implementing product strategies, including roadmap planning, prioritization, and execution.
• Strong skills in stakeholder engagement with a background in collaborating with design, engineering, and external partners.
• Awareness of industry trends and advancements in civic tech.
• Experience in addressing complex challenges using human-centered design, agile iterative development, and data-driven decision-making.
• Ability to understand user needs and create optimal solutions.
• A commitment to public service, accessibility, and inclusion.
