This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead a team of Global Category Managers to develop and enhance strategic category strategies.
• Manage global supplier relationship initiatives for key partners.
• Oversee the governance of the Business Operations Committee, QBS, along with issue and performance management.
• Utilize spend data analytics, market intelligence, and benchmarking to uncover value opportunities.
• Enhance vendor services while driving cost efficiency and avoidance in alignment with Finance.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to facilitate structured decision-making across various teams.
• Establish and implement negotiation strategies and playbooks for intricate global MSAs, rate cards, rebates, and commercial terms.
• Ensure the effectiveness of procurement events through optimal utilization of purchasing channels.
• Deploy tools and systems that ensure successful execution while managing risks and stakeholder communications.
• Assess the vendor landscape and align preferred suppliers across Business Units, Therapeutic Areas, and the global context.
• Report directly to the Head of Research, Development & Medical Services.
• Manage procurement strategies for an estimated $600M in spending across clinical trial CRO management, clinical technologies, and medical affairs services.
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• A minimum of 12 years of relevant leadership experience.
• At least 6 years of experience in clinical or related category management.
• A minimum of 3 years in team leadership within a global setting.
• Proven ability to lead high-impact teams and mentor team members effectively.
• Strong skills in influencing, collaborating, and communicating with effective stakeholder management capabilities.
• Demonstrated expertise in leading complex global procurement initiatives while managing multiple high-priority projects concurrently.
• Proficient in prioritizing, organizing, and multitasking within a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to generate value from both internal and external opportunities.
• Familiarity with digital procurement tools, advanced analytics, automation, and AI-driven insights.
• Skilled in sophisticated negotiations across diverse commercial models and deal structures, including CROs, Clinical Technologies, and Medical Affairs.
• Proven track record in shaping global category strategies within a complex, matrixed, and highly regulated environment.
• Exhibits executive presence and the ability to forge effective relationships that influence senior stakeholders and decision-making processes.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and inspire others.
• Strong project management expertise.
• Experience in global leadership and operational excellence.
