Director of Preconstruction, Data Center Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee preconstruction activities from initial opportunity through to construction handoff.

• Create and manage project estimates, budgets, schedules, and execution plans.

• Facilitate constructability reviews, value engineering, and risk assessments.

• Collaborate with Engineering and Supply Chain teams to ensure alignment of solutions with cost and schedule goals.

• Set preconstruction standards, processes, and performance metrics.

• Assemble and lead a high-performing team that includes estimators and a BIM lead.

• Ensure that data center network infrastructure projects are properly scoped, budgeted, risk-assessed, and ready for successful execution.

• Evaluate estimate accuracy, project readiness, cost savings, value engineering outcomes, customer satisfaction, and team engagement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for a degree.

• More than 10 years of experience in data center, telecommunications, network infrastructure, or mission-critical construction.

• At least 5 years of leadership experience in preconstruction, estimating, or project delivery.

• Extensive understanding of estimating, scheduling, procurement, and risk management.

• Proficient in BIM or similar design software.

• Strong knowledge of Accubid or equivalent estimating software.

• OSHA 30 certification can be obtained post-hire if required.

• Willingness to travel 25–50% as needed, including project visits and client-facing activities.

• Strategic Leadership skills.

• Expertise in Cost Estimating & Financial Analysis.

• Experience in Project Planning & Scheduling.

• Ability to work collaboratively across functions.

• Proficient in Risk Management.
