This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of People Operations from start to finish, establishing the appropriate infrastructure, processes, and tools as RYZE expands across DTC, retail, and new categories.
• Mentor, guide, and enhance the skills of a team of People Operations Partners and Generalists.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders on team dynamics, organizational design, and growth challenges, optimizing team structures for scalability.
• Create and implement performance management, succession planning, and workforce planning frameworks that align individual objectives with business priorities, including calibration, manager enablement, and maintaining data integrity throughout review cycles.
• Develop retention, culture, and employee engagement strategies that evolve with a rapidly growing and distributed team.
• Oversee learning and development, as well as onboarding, ensuring every new hire has a clear and structured path from their first day.
• Maintain a general understanding of compensation and benefits programs.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws across a multi-state remote workforce, proactively managing risk and serving as the escalation point for employee relations issues.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and communication frameworks that ensure consistent and effective delivery.
• Advocate for AI adoption and workflow automation within the People function, streamlining processes from document creation to performance plan development, enabling the team to operate more efficiently.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Legal, IT, and Finance to facilitate the smooth implementation of People Operations initiatives, incorporating feedback into policies and processes.
• Work alongside Founders and cross-functional leaders on organizational design and change management, translating strategy into actionable steps without being hindered by unnecessary processes.
• Over 10 years of progressive HR experience, including team leadership, gained in a high-growth startup or scale-up DTC, CPG, or omnichannel environment.
• Demonstrated success in building and expanding People Operations infrastructure, not merely maintaining existing structures.
• Practical experience across performance management, succession planning, workforce planning, retention, and employee engagement.
• Proven expertise in leading organizational design and managing change.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, with actual experience supporting a multi-state workforce.
• General familiarity with compensation and benefits programs, and proficiency with HR technology including HRIS platforms, ATS, and people analytics.
• Proven experience utilizing AI tools and workflow automation within HR.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, founder-led culture, with a strong preference for driving progress over getting bogged down in processes.
• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
