This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of and enhance essential employee lifecycle processes, such as onboarding, offboarding, compliance training, promotions, and job transitions.
• Direct the People Operations team, which currently consists of one manager and two direct reports.
• Increase the visibility and accessibility of HR Operations for employees.
• Oversee the operational aspects of establishing new legal entities internationally, including in the UK, Canada, Germany, and other countries.
• Ensure HR operations and compliance are maintained across all locations where Chainguard operates.
• Collaborate with Finance and Legal teams on compliance, payroll, and legal obligations in new markets.
• Manage and broaden the partnership with the Employer of Record provider for remote employees in approximately 19 countries.
• Develop scalable People Operations processes, templates, and resources.
• Leverage AI to create more efficient People Operations processes and enhance the employee experience.
• 8–10+ years of experience in HR/People Operations, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
• Proven track record in owning HRIS strategy, including implementation, migration, or significant optimization using Workday, Rippling, ADP, or similar systems.
• Experience managing the entire employee lifecycle: onboarding, offboarding, organizational changes, data integrity, and process design.
• Background in overseeing HR compliance operations, including I-9s, leave administration, policy management, and audits.
• Experience in establishing or scaling a People Operations function within a high-growth SaaS or startup environment.
• International experience is essential, especially throughout EMEA.
• Direct experience in launching new international entities and ensuring HR compliance and operations in new regions.
• Experience collaborating with or managing an Employer of Record (EOR) for international personnel.
• Strong history of managing and developing a team effectively.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and build processes where none currently exist.
