This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead IT professionals supporting the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA).
• Manage and enhance the standards, compliance, and performance of organ procurement organizations, transplant centers, and histocompatibility laboratories.
• Oversee case management, member performance monitoring, quality improvement, and adherence to OPTN bylaws, HRSA policies, and federal regulations.
• Direct the Patient Safety and Compliance Reviews Task Team.
• Provide progress reports and formal presentations to GDIT executives, HRSA, OPTN committees, the OPTN Board of Directors, and various stakeholders.
• Collaborate with contractors and internal teams to enhance organizational processes and outcomes.
• Oversee compliance and monitoring activities for OPTN member institutions.
• Manage oversight plans and procedures, which include member monitoring, performance improvement, case management, triage, case review, close-out, and site visit plans.
• Supervise site visits and evaluate member adherence to OPTN policies and regulatory standards.
• Facilitate real-time escalation and data sharing with HRSA and OPTN.
• Analyze member performance data to identify trends, risks, and systemic patient-safety issues.
• Lead data-driven quality improvement initiatives aimed at strengthening compliance, enhancing organ placement efficiency, and mitigating patient-safety risks.
• Oversee the development of educational materials and guidelines for OPTN members.
• Refine monitoring systems based on lessons learned and emerging needs.
• Mentor and develop team members; conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
• Manage departmental operations, quality assurance workflows, staffing, training, and resource allocation.
• Translate OPTN and HRSA policies into compliance-monitoring and quality-improvement workflows.
• Recommend policy updates based on case reviews, trend analysis, and identified compliance gaps.
• Ensure compliance with federal regulations, OPTN bylaws, and HRSA contractual obligations.
• Act as the primary liaison among GDIT, HRSA, OPTN committees, member institutions, and external contractors.
• Manage stakeholder communications and resolve issues effectively.
• Represent the department in cross-functional meetings and advocate for programmatic enhancements.
• A Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, MSN, MPH, or equivalent relevant field) is required.
• A PhD and other clinical qualifications are preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in quality assurance, clinical compliance, health consulting, or healthcare management is required.
• 15 years of experience is preferred.
• Experience in organ transplantation or a related field is preferred.
• At least 5 years in a management or leadership role is required.
• Clinical experience is mandatory.
• Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach are essential.
• Proficiency in regulatory standards such as CMS or OPTN is required.
• Excellent communication skills are necessary.
• Leadership capabilities are essential.
• A systems-based mindset is required.
