📋 Description

• Cultivate and expand a diverse portfolio of external partnerships spanning pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical technology, health technology, AI, and philanthropic sectors.

• Recognize scientific, technological, and market advancements that present opportunities for Sage’s research, data, governance, and technology capabilities.

• Establish connections with scientific, technical, executive, and funding decision-makers.

• Convert relationships into a qualified pipeline of proposals and secured agreements.

• Create repeatable solutions that align external needs with Sage’s scientific, data, governance, technology, and AI capabilities.

• Assess opportunities for strategic alignment, scientific merit, differentiation, feasibility, funding potential, and organizational capacity.

• Collaborate with the CEO, Chief Data Officer, and other organizational leaders to define partnership strategies.

• Conduct hands-on exploration with potential partners.

• Generate analyses, prototypes, demonstrations, proofs of concept, concept notes, proposals, presentations, scopes, and budgets.

• Drive strategic initiatives that enhance Sage’s capabilities, visibility, partnerships, and funding opportunities.

• Guide scientific strategy and content for external scientific events, including Sage Assembly.

• Connect external partners with Sage’s scientific, technical, operational, and leadership teams.

• Facilitate decision-making regarding priorities, resources, risks, and trade-offs.

• Foster trusted relationships with principal investigators and organizational leaders.

• Mentor colleagues and nurture emerging leaders.

• Build and manage a team over time.


⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced degree in a biomedical, behavioral, public health, data science, engineering, or a related field.

• Extensive experience (10+ years) in biomedical science, data, technology, and external partnerships.

• Proven track record of initiating and advancing funded partnerships with life science, health technology, or AI organizations.

• Experience in translating partner needs into targeted solutions and crafting proposals, scopes, budgets, agreements, and negotiations.

• Practical experience with health data and data-intensive technologies.

• Excellent scientific communication skills, ability to build cross-functional relationships, and an established industry network.

• Sound judgment, personal accountability, and capability to advance opportunities in ambiguous situations.

• Travel required at least twice per year for on-site events in Seattle, WA.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Capability to work efficiently under deadlines.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Attention to detail and accuracy.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing environments, priorities, and multitasking demands.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team while maintaining professionalism.

• Commitment to adhering to company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
