This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Provide guidance and training for customers on integrating Curie with their faculty through onboarding sessions, workshops, and direct support.
β’ Articulate instructional design principles and best practices to customers, faculty, and academic leadership.
β’ Develop and update training materials, job aids, and implementation guides for Curie.
β’ Oversee and manage a distributed team of instructional designers, which includes both employees and contractors.
β’ Define project scope, allocate instructional design tasks, recruit and onboard designers and contractors, give feedback, and assess quality.
β’ Set and uphold instructional design standards for work related to Alchemy and Curie.
β’ Ensure course designs adhere to accessibility and quality standards, including WCAG and Quality Matters.
β’ Act as the instructional design subject-matter expert for Product Development, providing advice on features and the product roadmap.
β’ Test and ensure quality for new Curie features and releases.
β’ Relay customer feedback and insights from the field to the product team.
β’ Define the instructional design components of RFPs and proposals using the Alchemy product catalog.
β’ Collaborate with the Director of Project Management to execute projects within defined scope, budget, and timeline.
β’ Create repeatable and scalable methods for large or multi-course projects.
β’ Coordinate efforts with external vendors and partners.
β’ Take on project leadership roles as the instructional designer when necessary.
β’ Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Education, or a related discipline (bachelor's degree with equivalent experience may be considered).
β’ Over 5 years of instructional design experience in higher education, encompassing online and hybrid course development.
β’ More than 2 years of experience leading or managing instructional designers, including remote team members or contractors.
β’ Strong understanding of instructional design models and learning science principles, such as ADDIE, backward design, and UDL.
β’ Proven experience in training or consulting with faculty and academic stakeholders.
β’ Experience in defining instructional design work for proposals, statements of work, or project estimates.
β’ Working knowledge of various LMS platforms, including Canvas, Blackboard, D2L Brightspace, or Moodle.
β’ Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging both technical and academic audiences.
β’ Comfortable testing software and providing structured, actionable feedback to product teams.
β’ Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1/2.2) and accessibility testing practices.
β’ Experience utilizing AI tools and design as well as interactive creation tools like the Articulate Suite and H5P.
β’ A bachelor's degree with equivalent experience may be considered as an alternative to a master's degree.
