Director of Information Technology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily IT operations, which encompass end-user support, procurement, and the onboarding and offboarding of employees.

• Manage security and cloud infrastructure across hybrid on-premises and Azure cloud environments.

• Supervise the administration and management of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.

• Administer and configure hosted third-party SaaS business applications.

• Develop and uphold business continuity and disaster recovery strategies, including backup, failover, and recovery procedures.

• Implement the CTO's technology roadmap and strategic initiatives through actionable plans, timelines, and measurable results.

• Drive ITSM/ITIL maturity and enhance incident, problem, change, request, asset, and configuration management processes.

• Establish service-level metrics and operational KPIs.

• Collaborate with the Director of Software Engineering on infrastructure requirements and software development operations.

• Work in conjunction with Tech Talent & People Operations on IT staffing strategies, hiring workflows, career tracks, and role leveling.

• Collaborate with leadership and peer directors on infrastructure, security, and service priorities.

• Recruit, develop, mentor, and lead multidisciplinary IT teams.

• Manage relationships with vendors and technology partners, including contracts, renewals, and performance assessments.

• Assist in IT budget planning and forecasting.

• Provide executive-level reporting on IT projects, roadmap advancements, service performance, risks, and resource requirements.

• Complete assigned projects and deliverables within established timelines and budgets.

• Perform additional related duties as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary IT teams across security, cloud infrastructure, application management, and IT operations.

• Extensive hands-on and leadership experience within the Microsoft ecosystem, including the full Microsoft 365 suite and Azure PaaS and IaaS environments.

• Working knowledge of compliance and security frameworks such as SOC 2, with experience managing IT environments under audit conditions.

• Significant ITSM/ITIL experience with a proven history of enhancing IT service management process maturity.

• Familiarity with software development operations, Azure DevOps, SQL Server, and IIS.

• Proven experience in leading high-velocity technical recruitment and building multidisciplinary teams rapidly, including significant headcount expansion within 12 months.

• Experience in negotiating and managing contracts with vendors and technology partners.

• Strong executive communication abilities, including reporting at the executive level and influencing senior leadership.

• Knowledge of SDLC and Agile delivery methodologies.

• Experience working in a multi-tenant or multi-company environment.

• Capability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance workflows and optimize operational processes.

• Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Proven aptitude for learning new technologies and adapting to changing requirements.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure, operations, or technology leadership.

• More than 5 years of experience leading and developing multidisciplinary IT teams.

• Willingness to travel up to 5%, including travel across any or all 50 US states.
