This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand, +1 more country.
• Lead the financial operations for a growing B2B SaaS organization as it transitions into its next stage of capital development.
• Participate as a member of the Executive Team, reporting directly to the CEO and addressing the Board.
• Oversee strategic finance responsibilities, encompassing financial planning and analysis, the group model, SaaS metrics, scenario and downside planning, treasury and financing strategies, as well as investor-grade reporting and data-room preparedness.
• Integrate economic analysis into commercial decisions alongside the CEO and sales executives, focusing on unit economics, cost to serve, pricing strategies, and deal-call modeling.
• Manage controllership functions, including month-end closures, statutory reporting, external audits, and multi-jurisdictional tax obligations.
• Take charge of the annual budget, departmental budget accountability, accrual management, and cost control across various functions.
• Prepare and deliver reports for the Board and management while addressing queries from directors.
• Oversee cash management, treasury functions, covenant compliance, cash-flow forecasting, drawdown and repayment planning, covenant monitoring, and foreign exchange exposure.
• Lead capital markets and due diligence readiness, ensuring investor-grade reporting and data-room upkeep.
• Spearhead the finance technology stack and automation initiatives, enhancing the function through improved systems.
• Supervise internal controls and risk management, including control documentation, insurance programs, and risk registers.
• An FP&A-focused finance leader with comprehensive ownership of budget and forecasting processes.
• Recent, practical experience in controllership, including month-end closing, statutory reporting, audits, and tax responsibilities executed personally.
• Experience in multi-entity and multi-jurisdiction environments, including compliance with investor and financing covenants.
• Comfortable presenting to the Board and directly addressing directors' inquiries.
• CA, CPA, or equivalent qualification.
• A proactive approach to owning and enhancing a function while working closely in a small team.
• Preferred, but not essential: experience in capital raising, sale or due diligence processes; background in B2B SaaS and fluency in SaaS metrics; experience in designing and implementing finance automation; involvement in pricing and unit economics; exposure to enterprise risk and governance.
