This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia, +1 more country.
• Lead the financial operations for a growing B2B SaaS company entering its next phase of capital development.
• Participate on the executive team, report directly to the CEO, and respond to the Board's inquiries.
• Manage financial planning and analysis, the group financial model, SaaS performance metrics, scenario and downside planning, treasury and financing strategies, as well as investor-grade reporting and data-room preparedness.
• Incorporate financial insights into commercial decisions alongside the CEO and sales leaders, focusing on unit economics, service costs, pricing strategies, and deal modeling.
• Oversee controllership responsibilities, which include month-end closing, statutory reporting, external audits, and multi-jurisdictional tax compliance.
• Take ownership of the annual budget, department-level budget accountability, accrual practices, and cost management.
• Prepare and present reports for the Board and management while addressing directors' inquiries.
• Manage cash flow, treasury operations, covenant adherence, cash-flow projections, drawdown and repayment strategies, covenant monitoring, and foreign exchange risk.
• Develop and maintain investor-grade reporting and data rooms.
• Lead the finance technology infrastructure and automation initiatives.
• Supervise internal controls and risk management, including control documentation, insurance programs, and risk registers; may contribute to Global Risk and Compliance efforts.
• Enhance the finance function through improved systems and automation instead of increasing headcount, with opportunities for advancement into investor relations, capital strategy, M&A, due diligence, and potentially a CFO role.
• A finance leader with expertise in FP&A who has managed budgets and forecasts comprehensively.
• Recent, hands-on experience in controllership, covering month-end closing, statutory reporting, audits, and tax responsibilities performed personally.
• Experience in multi-entity and multi-jurisdiction operations, including compliance with investor and financing covenants.
• Comfortable presenting to a Board and directly addressing questions from directors.
• CA, CPA, or equivalent qualification is required.
• A proactive approach to owning and enhancing a function, with a willingness to work collaboratively in a small team.
• Preferred but not mandatory: experience with capital raises, sales, or diligence processes supported from within the organization.
• Preferred but not mandatory: familiarity with B2B SaaS and proficiency in SaaS metrics.
• Preferred but not mandatory: personal experience in designing and implementing finance automation.
• Preferred but not mandatory: experience in pricing strategies and unit economics analysis.
• Preferred but not mandatory: exposure to enterprise risk and governance issues.
