This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Design and execute scalable data architectures that combine healthcare payer, health exchange, provider, and EMR data into cohesive golden records.

• Lead the technical strategy for aligning healthcare data sources with HL7 FHIR and interoperability standards.

• Architect, implement, and enhance both batch and real-time data pipelines and integrations.

• Drive technical decisions for Databricks, focusing on optimizing development speed, cost effectiveness, and operational excellence.

• Establish data governance practices and operationalize data quality, lineage, and documentation.

• Oversee data integrations, encompassing SFTP, Delta Sharing, and EMR integrations.

• Mentor and lead data engineers, analysts, and QA engineers.

• Recruit, hire, and cultivate data talent.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams.

• Develop engineering processes, code review standards, and quality assurance practices.

• Partner with the CTO on long-term data strategy and technology roadmap development.

• Work with product leadership to support product strategy.

• Promote data-informed decision-making through analytics and reporting.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare data.

• In-depth knowledge of payer and provider data ecosystems.

• Extensive expertise with FHIR, HL7, X12, and clinical data formats.

• Proven experience with EMR systems, claims data, and clinical workflows.

• Strong understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, FDA, and CMS regulations.

• Advanced skills in data architecture, data engineering, and data science methodologies.

• Expert-level knowledge of Databricks, including cost and performance optimization.

• Solid background in pub/sub architectures, batch processing, and real-time healthcare data integration.

• Proficient in Python, SQL, Spark, Kafka, and other modern data stack technologies.

• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP, as well as infrastructure as code.

• Familiarity with AI/ML technologies.

• At least 3 years of experience in leading technical teams.

• Ability to recruit, develop, and retain technical talent.

• Capability to communicate complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience collaborating with product, engineering, and clinical stakeholders.

• An advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field is preferred.

• Familiarity with HL7 Da Vinci organizations is preferred.

• Previous experience in health tech startups or healthcare technology companies is preferred.

• Knowledge of machine learning and AI applications in healthcare is preferred.

• Experience in building data products, federated data architectures, and customer-facing platforms is preferred.

• Comfortable with presentations and conducting discovery sessions with customers and partners.

• Understanding of healthcare quality measures and value-based care models.
