This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.
• Supervise financial and accounting operations, which include financial statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, grant expense tracking, grant reporting, and ad hoc reporting.
• Assess financial statements for compliance with GAAP standards.
• Develop annual budgets and monthly forecasts for clients, offering insights into their financial status.
• Manage annual financial and governmental A-133 audits, including preparation of work papers, acting as a liaison with auditors, and understanding governmental programs.
• Ensure compliance reporting is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
• Act as the fiscal liaison to Authorizers, Counties, and State and Federal Agencies.
• Educate client staff on effective implementation and adherence to internal controls.
• Convey financial data to organizational leaders and executives.
• Surpass client expectations regarding the quality and accuracy of information provided.
• Build and sustain long-term relationships with client leadership and personnel.
• Stay updated on the charter school sector and related funding through ongoing professional development.
• Guide staff and support their professional advancement.
• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is mandatory.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience required, including some oversight and staff development.
• Experience in the finance sectors of AZ, FL, RI, MN, ID, TX schools, and nonprofits is essential.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a close-knit team environment with clients and Charter Impact staff.
• Outstanding customer service abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Self-motivated individual who can prioritize and multitask without daily supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel, and other computer skills.
• Familiarity with Sage Intacct or similar nonprofit accounting software is preferred.
