This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of Capture Managers responsible for significant federal pursuits.
• Set clear expectations, performance metrics, priorities, and maintain a consistent workflow for the Capture Management team.
• Oversee and prioritize the company's strategic capture portfolio.
• Assess opportunities based on customer alignment, strategic importance, contract value, competition, likelihood of success, resources, and return on investment.
• Advise on which opportunities Odyssey Systems should invest in, pursue, shape, accelerate, or abandon.
• Maintain awareness of portfolio health and maturity while identifying issues that need executive attention.
• Balance immediate recompete efforts with long-term growth opportunities and market expansion.
• Provide leadership and guidance for significant Full and Open opportunities, key recompetes, and high-value federal competitions.
• Ensure early engagement with customers to understand mission requirements, acquisition strategies, funding, evaluation priorities, and competitive dynamics.
• Review capture strategies, competitive evaluations, teaming strategies, win strategies, pricing strategies, and proposal plans.
• Personally participate in the company’s most strategic pursuits when involvement from senior leadership can enhance outcomes.
• Establish and enforce a consistent capture framework and standards for qualification, planning, customer engagement, competitive analysis, solution development, teaming, pricing, and proposal transition.
• Implement capture metrics, decision points, and structured reviews to identify weaknesses and initiate corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Business Development, Operations, Engineering, Program Management, Pricing, Contracts, Recruiting, Finance, and Proposal teams.
• Assist Capture Managers in developing teaming strategies and relationships with industry partners.
• Engage senior executives to ensure organizational alignment and timely decision-making.
• Conduct structured reviews of wins, losses, and completed pursuits.
• Monitor capture performance and leverage data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
• Enhance tools, processes, templates, and training programs.
• Build a scalable and disciplined capture function that supports ongoing growth.
• Oversee pursuits across the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, Space and Missile Defense, and Life Sciences markets.
• Drive growth in contract awards and profitable revenue across key markets.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Management, or a related field.
• Over 12 years of experience in federal business development, capture management, or a combination of both.
• Proven success in leading or overseeing large federal captures, particularly those involving $50M+ opportunities.
• Experience in leading and developing Capture Managers or other senior business development professionals.
• Demonstrated experience with Full and Open federal competitions and significant recompetes.
• Familiarity with one or more target markets, including Air Force, Army, Navy, SMD, or Life Sciences.
• Strong comprehension of the federal acquisition process and large government procurements.
• Proven capability to evaluate opportunities and make informed pursuit and resource-allocation decisions.
• Strong grasp of capture methodology and disciplined pursuit management.
• Executive-level communication skills for briefing senior leadership, customers, and industry partners.
• Strong skills in customer relations, negotiation, strategic planning, and team leadership.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while concentrating on the organization's most significant opportunities.
• Willingness to travel as necessary.
• Preferred: experience with large DoD procurements involving the Air Force, Army, Navy, or SMD.
• Preferred: experience pursuing federal Life Sciences or health-related opportunities.
• Preferred: demonstrated success with large Full and Open competitions.
• Preferred: experience with major recompetes and strategies for incumbent displacement.
• Preferred: experience in IDIQ, GWAC, BPA, and task-order environments.
• Preferred: experience with FFP, CPFF, T&M, and other federal contract structures.
• Preferred: experience in establishing or enhancing a formal capture management organization.
