This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Execute the comprehensive business development strategy, along with sales processes, organizational structure, and customer experience.
• Discover and connect with new potential clients through databases, publications, market analysis, trade shows, and networking.
• Generate leads, reach out to decision-makers, and assess and qualify prospective business opportunities.
• Guide potential clients through technical discussions, RFPs, quotations, visits, and various stages of the sales process.
• Conduct customer meetings and perform business due diligence evaluations.
• Take ownership of proposal creation, including detailed responses to RFPs and contributions from scientific and operations teams.
• Negotiate sales agreements and meet sales targets.
• Document the sales pipeline in CRM, maintain prospect databases, and provide forecasting information.
• Produce sales activity reports.
• Contribute to marketing efforts by providing market insights, distributing materials, and participating in trade shows.
• Keep an eye on industry trends, customer drivers, internal capabilities, and technological advancements.
• Meet with management and stakeholders to discuss updates and potential strategic impacts.
• Foster client relationships while demonstrating leadership, communication, and effective account/relationship management skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or Chemistry.
• Over 8 years of experience in sales/technical roles or client relationship management, preferably within a bio-manufacturing or CDMO setting.
• Proficient in CRM software.
• Flexibility is essential as work schedules may vary according to business requirements, including accommodating different time zones.
• A criminal background check is mandatory.
• Strong influencing skills and meticulous attention to detail, with the capacity to juggle multiple competing priorities and projects across various functions.
• Displays tact and diplomacy.
• High levels of initiative, self-motivation, and energy, along with the ability to collaborate effectively within a commercial team.
• Highly organized, capable of managing complex information and meeting deadlines effectively.
• Ambitious, performance-driven, and able to operate independently.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; Genezen is unable to provide visa sponsorship.
• Required physical ability to sit for extended periods, type and use keyboard/mouse, communicate via telephone and email, and occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds.
