Director, New Business Sales

📋 Description

• Oversee a team of seven new business Account Executives focused on acquiring new clients.

• Attract and maintain top sales talent as the team grows.

• Foster a high-performance, low-ego sales environment.

• Mentor Account Executives through call evaluations, deal assessments, and one-on-one sessions utilizing the “One Thing” coaching approach.

• Assist in high-potential deals by participating in calls, formulating strategies, engaging senior stakeholders, and facilitating deal closures.

• Take responsibility for the team’s performance through precise forecasting, monitoring leading indicators, and diagnosing pipeline issues early.

• Manage deal cycles across regions including Asia, Europe, Australia, and APAC.

• Create and enhance Portless’s new business sales playbook.

• Collaborate with BDRs, Marketing, Onboarding, Client Success, and RevOps teams.

• Ensure CRM accuracy, deal stage integrity, forecasting precision, and activity tracking within HubSpot.

• Recruit, retain, and nurture the new business team.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of sales leadership experience managing quota-carrying Account Executives.

• Proven track record as a quota-carrying closer in mid-market and/or enterprise sectors.

• Demonstrated success in recruiting and retaining sales talent.

• Proven ability to cultivate a team culture that consistently meets commitments.

• Effective coaching skills with tangible examples of representative improvement.

• History of personally winning deals and assisting teams in successful deal closures.

• Comfortable collaborating across time zones, including engagements in Asia and deal cycles in Europe, Australia, and APAC.

• Familiarity with CRM and sales tools such as HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Gong.

• Experience selling to ecommerce, DTC, or retail brands (preferred).

• Knowledge of logistics, supply chain, 3PL, or fulfillment (preferred).

• Understanding of usage-based pricing models (preferred).

• Experience in scaling a sales team during periods of rapid growth (preferred).

• Background in high-growth startups building sales strategies (preferred).
