This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Ensure profitable access to coverage with government accounts and key regional plans.
• Support the implementation of Market Access objectives and strategies aimed at payer audiences.
• Collaborate effectively with Market Access, Marketing, Commercial Operations, Sales, and Medical teams.
• Execute customer strategies that align with both product and organizational goals.
• Deliver value in products, services, and the organization through interactions with stakeholders.
• Develop and implement market-access payer strategies to enhance access and profitability.
• Lead engagements with key strategic accounts.
• Monitor developments in government and private insurers as well as market trends.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with senior management and decision-makers at accounts.
• Track formulary and product access.
• Create account plans and engage in business reviews.
• Provide expertise on payer accounts to influence broader sales and marketing strategies.
• Execute brand strategies tailored to the market-access landscape.
• Educate and mentor field colleagues on access opportunities and challenges.
• Represent Cogent at national and regional conferences.
• Provide support to others as needed with a proactive, results-driven approach.
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a proven record of success and preferred first-line sales management experience.
• At least 5 years of experience with government accounts and key regional payer accounts, ideally with a focus on rare diseases, hematology, and oncology.
• Proven ability to convey “clinical value first” and/or scientific product-related information to key stakeholders within major national accounts.
• Consistent history of ensuring payer coverage and, when necessary, successful contract negotiations.
• Ability to plan and analyze sales and payer data effectively.
• Expertise in contracting or negotiations with key government payer customers and business segments, including Commercial and Medicare.
• Strong business acumen along with persuasive communication and presentation skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, prioritization, business judgment, and the ability to identify opportunities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work across different functions.
• Target bonus of 20%.
