This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Assist in driving innovation initiatives.
• Contribute to campus master planning efforts.
• Provide support to the Vice President of Architecture for a multi-phase, campus-wide construction project.
• Oversee the preparation and final approval of project contract documents created by external design consultants.
• Ensure that project designs are completed on time and within budget.
• Offer engineering expertise and guidance on projects, operations, and systems within current facilities.
• Develop and maintain equipment specifications for both owner-furnished and contractor-installed equipment and systems.
• Assist procurement through vendor submittal evaluations, approvals, and factory witness testing.
• Keep legacy basis-of-design documents updated.
• Aid in creating new basis-of-design documents to address emerging business requirements.
• Identify, recommend, and implement technologies and systems aimed at enhancing data center energy and cost efficiency.
• Communicate and enforce engineering and design policies, practices, standards, and security protocols.
• Stay informed about emerging engineering and design technologies and trends.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Professional Engineer (PE) Registration is preferred (Mechanical).
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in designing data centers and specifying HVAC equipment for mission-critical facilities is required for consideration for the Director level position.
• Candidates with 5-7 years of experience in data center design may apply but will be considered for a Manager level position.
• Proficiency in IT cooling technologies, including both air and direct-to-chip liquid cooling.
• Understanding of mechanical cooling system controls.
• Competent in MS Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
• Baseline proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check.
