This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Korea.
β’ Lead and implement GBCI's market development and business growth strategy for South Korea, while fostering opportunities in Japan and Taiwan.
β’ Create and execute market strategies to enhance GBCI's visibility, broaden customer and partner networks, increase market penetration, and support sustainable growth.
β’ Act as a subject matter expert and thought leader in LEED, sustainable buildings, and green building practices.
β’ Educate stakeholders through meetings, presentations, workshops, conferences, webinars, industry events, and various written, verbal, and in-person mediums.
β’ Establish and nurture relationships with developers, owners, corporations, architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, service providers, government bodies, and industry organizations.
β’ Represent GBCI as the primary ambassador in South Korea and act as a representative in Japan and Taiwan.
β’ Identify and promote market opportunities, strategic partnerships, priority sectors, and the adoption of LEED and other GBCI programs.
β’ Develop networks of partners and service providers to enhance market reach and stakeholder engagement.
β’ Explore innovative approaches, business opportunities, partnerships, and market development initiatives.
β’ Provide strategic and technical leadership while articulating the business value of GBCI programs to diverse audiences.
β’ Guide clients and project teams on LEED certification pathways, sustainability best practices, and GBCI certification processes.
β’ Monitor market trends, customer needs, competitive activities, regulatory developments, and emerging opportunities.
β’ Offer feedback on USGBC and GBCI resources, products, programs, and market initiatives.
β’ Share market intelligence, customer feedback, stakeholder insights, and strategic recommendations with regional and global teams.
β’ Coordinate market development campaigns, educational initiatives, and stakeholder engagement activities.
β’ Maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders to enhance satisfaction, retention, and long-term engagement.
β’ Independently manage priorities and relationships in a fully remote, internationally matrixed environment.
β’ Travel extensively throughout South Korea and occasionally to Japan, Taiwan, mainland China, and other locations in North Asia.
β’ A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in green building, sustainability, engineering, architecture, construction, real estate, market development, business development, sustainability consulting, client engagement, strategic relationship management, or a related area.
β’ Proven experience in leading market development or business strategies and translating relationships, partnerships, and opportunities into measurable market growth.
β’ Strong comprehension of the sustainable building and green building sectors.
β’ Experience with LEED certification projects, consulting firms, developers, corporations, or sustainability-oriented organizations.
β’ Proven ability to develop relationships and conduct business within the South Korean market.
β’ Deep understanding of Korean business culture, industry dynamics, and professional practices.
β’ Experience in representing an organization externally through presentations, events, conferences, workshops, or other market-facing engagements.
β’ Ability to establish credibility as a subject matter expert or trusted advisor.
β’ Experience in identifying market trends, customer needs, and opportunities, and converting insights into actionable strategies.
β’ A master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
β’ A bachelor's degree is required.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, Power BI, virtual collaboration tools, LEED Online, and GBCI platforms; familiarity with Salesforce CRM platforms is preferred.
β’ Strong capabilities in market development and business growth.
β’ Skills in strategic relationship building and stakeholder engagement.
β’ Technical understanding of sustainable buildings, green building practices, and LEED.
β’ Excellent presentation, public speaking, client-facing communication, cross-cultural communication, customer relationship management, organizational, prioritization, and project management skills.
β’ Ability to work independently in a remote setting and collaborate with regional and global teams.
β’ LEED AP BD+C or LEED AP O+M certification is required.
β’ Professional fluency in Korean and English.
β’ Willingness and capability to travel extensively throughout South Korea and periodically to Japan, Taiwan, mainland China, and other North Asia locations.
