This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the planning, mobilization, execution, and closure of Major Component Exchange projects.
• Manage replacement initiatives for gearboxes, generators, main bearings, blades, hubs, transformers, main shafts, drivetrain components, and other mechanical and electrical parts.
• Coordinate schedules, field personnel, cranes, rigging, tooling, transportation, materials, subcontractors, and customer specifications.
• Develop comprehensive project execution strategies and ensure the alignment of staffing and resources.
• Identify constraints and formulate solutions to minimize downtime, delays, and cost implications.
• Uphold safety and quality standards in accordance with EHS policies, customer expectations, OEM procedures, and regulations.
• Ensure the completion of hazard analyses, lift plans, rigging plans, work procedures, rescue plans, and related documentation.
• Coordinate crane selection, mobilization, setup, execution, and demobilization processes.
• Lead, mentor, recruit, onboard, train, and develop MCE field personnel.
• Manage project budgets, costs, productivity, forecasts, change orders, estimating, and key performance indicators.
• Act as the primary operational contact for customers, providing updates on project status, safety, schedules, staffing, risks, and completion.
• Offer technical support and troubleshoot intricate mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues related to wind turbines.
• Review OEM procedures, technical drawings, manuals, service bulletins, torque specifications, and installation requirements.
• Maintain field-service records, reports, timekeeping, completion documentation, customer sign-offs, and quality records.
• Provide project updates, engage in post-mortem analyses, and document lessons learned.
• At least 8 years of experience in the wind-energy sector, with substantial field experience in wind turbine installation, maintenance, repair, or major component exchange.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience leading MCE, heavy-lift, construction, installation, or complex wind-turbine service projects.
• Proven experience with major component replacement tasks.
• Strong comprehension of wind turbine mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience in coordinating cranes, heavy lifts, rigging, tooling, and field personnel.
• Demonstrated project management expertise, including scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and customer communication.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting OEM procedures, technical drawings, manuals, and engineering documentation.
• Strong computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and project management/reporting systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capability to lead geographically dispersed field teams.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to meet company driving requirements.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively as needed.
