Director, LTL Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Supervise and enhance LTL operations while managing $400M in LTL expenditures.

• Establish and nurture partnerships with key LTL carriers.

• Address carrier disputes and oversee service agreements.

• Identify opportunities for improvement in routing, consolidation, and scheduling processes.

• Implement best practices to boost operational efficiency and streamline workflows.

• Control costs through strategic sourcing, rate negotiation, and optimization initiatives.

• Leverage data to assess performance, recognize trends, and make informed decisions.

• Prepare and present reports to senior management concerning LTL performance, cost efficiencies, and service enhancements.

• Lead and mentor a team of LTL specialists.

• Collaborate with operations, finance, and IT teams to promote integrated logistics solutions and cross-functional alignment.

• Drive initiatives that improve service performance, lower costs, and strengthen carrier relationships.

• Travel as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in LTL transportation.

• Minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity.

• Proven track record managing substantial LTL expenditures, ideally at or exceeding $100M.

• Extensive knowledge of LTL carrier networks, pricing structures, regulations, and market trends.

• Demonstrated capability to analyze intricate data, generate actionable insights, and execute strategic initiatives.

• Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Proficient in transportation management systems (TMS) and other pertinent software.

• Documented experience in managing and developing a high-performing team.

• Must be able to work remotely within the United States.

• Full-time availability required from Monday to Friday.
