This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the Recovery Services division within the Legal Claims Administration Group
• Report directly to the Senior Managing Director of Legal Claims Administration
• Manage all casework while handling a personal caseload
• Act as the initial point of contact for clients
• Assist partner counsel during settlement negotiations and mediation processes
• Acquire, manage, and analyze both client and opponent data
• Conduct independent data analyses and defense evaluations
• Address requests for extensions and provide necessary information
• Maintain and update case trackers
• Develop and implement template responses
• Draft and disseminate Demand Letters and Complaints
• File Complaints and serve Summonses and Complaints
• Create drafts for Demand Letters, Complaints, settlement agreements, and settlement parameters
• Oversee administrative tasks such as portfolio analysis, tracker upkeep, address research, and corporate name investigations
• Facilitate settlement negotiations and the execution of settlement agreements
• Monitor case status, settlement finalization, and reception of settlement funds
• Organize case communications, secondary defense analyses, settlement documents, motions, mediations, and pleadings
• Maintain portfolio status trackers and arrange regular meetings with stakeholders
• Assist in research for potential preference-case portfolios
• Report task completion status to supervisors
• Provide support to other areas within the Legal Claims Administration group
• Stay updated on legal matters pertaining to Sections 547, 550, and 502 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code
• Prepare client alerts and associated publications
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Master of Business Administration (MBA)
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate restructuring
• In-depth knowledge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and bankruptcy procedures
• Experience in bankruptcy litigation is advantageous
• Background in managing preference matters or other avoidance actions is beneficial
• Proficient in Excel at least at an intermediate level
• Familiarity with DocuSign is a plus
• Experience with PACER/ECF is an advantage
• Knowledge of Westlaw and Lexis is beneficial
