This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +9 more states.
• Design and assist in managing the core technology layers of the organization.
• Develop secure and scalable systems to support servers, networks, cloud platforms, and storage solutions.
• Identify emerging technologies and automation possibilities to enhance the P&C insurance value chain.
• Create strategic blueprints outlining the interactions between enterprise hardware, software, and networks.
• Plan and implement the migration from local data centers to Microsoft Azure.
• Evaluate existing systems and codebases, identify limitations and errors, and strategize architectural improvements.
• Standardize and provision infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code and code-driven deployments.
• Write code and develop standardized infrastructure blueprints for automated environment provisioning.
• Assist in designing automated build and release pipelines that support CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.
• Expand JSM automation into a self-service catalog for users.
• Integrate security mechanisms into the foundational architecture layers.
• Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to automate controls and workflows.
• Coordinate with corporate security engineers to ensure compliance with regulations and insurance standards.
• Act as the principal technical lead for significant foundational infrastructure initiatives.
• Mentor, instruct, and enhance technical skills among IT teams and engineering peers.
• Evaluate new AI and automation tools for potential integration.
• Lead proofs of concept and present effectiveness results to leadership and technical teams.
• Assess the integration of AI into automation workflows based on measurable outcomes.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related technical field is required.
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification is mandatory.
• Azure Administrator Associate credential is preferred.
• At least 5 years of progressively responsible technical experience in a senior infrastructure position.
• Strong background in scoping, architecting, and deploying enterprise-scale platforms.
• Proven experience in leading cloud migrations and managing production workloads in Microsoft Azure.
• Practical knowledge of Infrastructure as Code toolsets such as Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates.
• Experience in managing CI/CD automation pipelines.
• Relevant experience in highly regulated industry frameworks.
• Experience in the Property and Casualty insurance sector is preferred.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with executives.
• Ability to analyze P&C insurance business objectives and align them with technology solutions.
• Capability to work independently or guide technical teams with minimal oversight.
• Advanced analytical and architectural thinking abilities.
