This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage the daily functions of the Human Resources department and lead the HR team.
• Work closely with executive leadership to develop strategies for workforce staffing, recruiting, development, and retention.
• Offer HR guidance to managers and senior leaders regarding employee relations, performance management, staffing, compensation, organizational changes, and people-related decisions.
• Collaborate with Finance and Payroll for effective employee data management and payroll processing.
• Create and oversee the HR departmental budget.
• Direct HR professional development, training, and certification initiatives.
• Design, coordinate, and implement HR policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Supervise recruiting, leave administration, employee relations, reasonable accommodation requests, performance management, recognition, occupational health and safety, and training and development for employees.
• Manage HRIS administration, usage, reporting, and ongoing improvements.
• Oversee total rewards and benefits programs and maintain relationships with benefits vendors and brokers.
• Administer retirement and ownership plans, including the 401(k) and ESOP, and assist with ERISA audits and filings.
• Manage onboarding programs to foster engagement, inclusion, and early success.
• Align HR initiatives, communication, and services with the organization’s culture, inclusion goals, and strategic priorities.
• Partner with leadership on staffing and recruiting needs as well as talent management practices.
• Oversee the performance management process and the use of Lattice Performance Management Software.
• Reduce legal risks through training, conflict management systems, harassment/discrimination investigations, and promoting respectful workplace practices.
• Advocate for inclusive diversity initiatives.
• Lead employee engagement initiatives, surveys, communications, and related activities.
• Stay informed about HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and technological advancements.
• Communicate changes in HR policies, practices, and resources to executive leadership.
• Assist with HR due diligence and employee integration during acquisitions.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources, including at least 3 years in a leadership role managing HR operations and staff, is required.
• Preferred qualifications include SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), HRCI Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR), or an equivalent senior-level certification.
• Experience with an ESOP is highly desired.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven supervisory and administrative leadership capabilities.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to navigate effectively between broader organizational priorities and hands-on HR tasks in a lean environment.
• High emotional intelligence, mission-driven, adaptable, influential, and possessing a strong sense of personal integrity, including handling sensitive or confidential information.
• Ability to listen for understanding, focus on root causes of issues, and connect qualitative and quantitative data.
• Demonstrated track record in executing strategic and operational priorities.
• Proficient in developing, drafting, and implementing employment policies.
• Comprehensive knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, including those applicable across various states and governmental levels.
• Experience with human resources information systems (HRIS); capable of leading HRIS strategy, implementation, and ongoing enhancements.
• Experience supporting a professional services firm, preferably with a focus on public sector or government clients.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Must possess the ability to efficiently exchange and maintain accurate information.
