This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Initiate and finalize new partnerships with both national and regional health plans.
• Arrange meetings with key decision-makers in areas such as network management, provider contracting, clinical programs, product development, and medical management.
• Identify, evaluate, and secure new health plan partnerships from initial outreach to proposal, negotiation, and contract signing.
• Facilitate discussions on in-network provider contracting, covering topics such as credentialing, reimbursement models, billing and coding, and network adequacy.
• Position 9amHealth as a clinically contracted program for health plans, shaping PMPM, value-based, and outcomes-guaranteed pricing models.
• Navigate intricate buying groups, procurement processes, vendor evaluations, security assessments, and legal negotiations.
• Customize clinical and financial value propositions using ROI, outcomes data, member engagement metrics, quality indicators, medical cost trends, and GLP-1 expenditures.
• Collaborate with the COO, Chief Medical Officer, marketing, finance, and implementation teams on proposals, pricing strategies, marketing materials, and launch transitions.
• Provide competitive insights and buyer feedback to refine product offerings, pricing strategies, and market entry plans.
• Maintain an up-to-date pipeline in HubSpot and present activity, pipeline status, and forecasts to the executive team.
• Represent 9amHealth at industry conferences and events, including AHIP.
• Report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer.
• A minimum of 8 years in enterprise sales or business development within the healthcare sector.
• At least 5 years of experience selling directly to commercial health plans.
• Proven success in establishing new health plan partnerships, including network provider agreements or vendor contracts.
• A robust, active network among national and regional health plans.
• Extensive knowledge of commercial, ASO/self-funded, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid business lines.
• Familiarity with network contracting, credentialing, claims and reimbursement processes, quality programs, and vendor procurement.
• Proficient in value-based and outcomes-based contracting.
• Capability to construct clinical and financial ROI cases in collaboration with plan actuaries and medical leadership.
• Experience managing lengthy, complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders independently.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with executives, clinicians, and contracting teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% for client meetings, conferences, and time spent at the Encinitas office.
• Experience in selling digital health, virtual care, or chronic condition management programs to payers is a plus.
• Familiarity with GLP-1, pharmacy benefits, or PBM-adjacent solutions is advantageous.
• Prior experience with health plans is desirable.
• Experience in marketing an emerging product within a growth-stage company is beneficial.
• An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to build a channel from the ground up is preferred.
• Prior experience with HubSpot or a similar CRM platform is a plus.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.
