This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Manages and supervises the month-end closing process for designated functional areas.
• Oversees the creation and examination of journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analyses.
• Reviews accounting transactions and reporting outputs to ensure adherence to GAAP standards.
• Guides the preparation and assessment of intricate financial analyses, operational trends, and budget versus actual reports.
• Develops and sustains accounting analytics, dashboards, KPIs, and reporting instruments.
• Assists with annual financial statement audit processes.
• Coordinates and provides support for ad hoc financial analysis and special projects for executive management.
• Drives innovation initiatives within general accounting by identifying, implementing, and optimizing analytics, automation, AI, and business intelligence tools.
• Offers leadership, mentorship, and direction to finance team members.
• Acts as a primary contact for inquiries related to accounting and financial reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, or Accounting.
• At least eight (8) years of progressively responsible and relevant work experience, including prior management duties.
• Experience in healthcare finance or healthcare accounting is preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal control systems.
• Capability to lead operational accounting activities while promoting strategic process enhancements and analytics initiatives.
• Proficient in Microsoft Power Platform tools, including Power BI, Power Automate, and related analytics technologies.
• Knowledge of artificial intelligence tools, automation technologies, and large language models (LLMs) and their use in finance and accounting operations.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms, including presenting complex financial data to senior leadership.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems and healthcare information systems, such as Epic and Workday, is preferred.
