This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Direct the financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning for the Common Collection System.
• Create and sustain financial models for revenue, cost structures, and reserves.
• Establish and track KPIs and financial metrics for internal reporting purposes.
• Oversee journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Evaluate accounting procedures to ensure adherence to policies and best practices.
• Stay informed on regulatory changes impacting financial reporting and compliance.
• Deliver financial analysis and variance reports to senior management.
• Supervise collection, allocation, reconciliation, and settlement processes.
• Manage annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and financial projections.
• Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analyses.
• Generate ad-hoc financial reports and analyses for business decisions and strategic initiatives.
• Implement and manage financial reporting systems that integrate with ERP and accounting software.
• Automate reporting processes and enhance financial reporting capabilities.
• Assess and refine financial processes and reporting tools.
• Collaborate with senior leadership, operational teams, and department heads.
• Relay financial data, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with auditors and regulatory bodies for audits, reviews, and compliance needs.
• Promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the financial reporting team.
• Supervise assigned team members and assist in fulfilling team responsibilities.
• Execute additional ad-hoc tasks as necessary.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Over 10 years of progressive experience, with at least 3 years in senior leadership positions.
• Extensive experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and/or variance analysis.
• Advanced skills in financial software like SAP and Datarails.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong preference for experience in Power BI dashboard development and AWS.
• Preferred understanding of artificial intelligence concepts.
• Advanced capabilities in financial modeling and/or variance analysis.
• Experience in amalgamating large data sets to derive actionable insights.
• Background in financial consolidation, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and/or financial analysis.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent communication skills for interpreting complex financial insights to non-financial stakeholders and senior management.
• Proven ability to establish new processes, automate manual workflows, and/or develop dashboards.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks and adhere to tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• High standards of integrity, personal responsibility, and accountability.
• CPA or another relevant certification is preferred.
• A combination of education and experience may be considered equivalent.
