
Director, Field Reimbursement – Remote Strategic Leader

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for Field Reimbursement programs within Alcon’s U.S. Pharmaceutical Glaucoma and Dry Eye portfolio.
• Develop and implement national reimbursement and patient access strategies that align with commercial goals.
• Act as a key member of the Market Access senior leadership team.
• Travel for team development, client engagements, internal leadership meetings, training, and market access initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop six geographically dispersed Field Access Managers.
• Monitor territory effectiveness and suggest opportunities for territory realignment.
• Establish and uphold standardized operating procedures for benefits verification, prior authorizations, and appeals.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on payer requirements and reimbursement processes.
• Develop strategic responses to changes in payer policy and formulary across commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid insurance landscapes.
• Monitor market trends, changes in the payer landscape, and coverage policies.
• Coordinate field reimbursement teams, hub services, specialty pharmacies, national accounts, and strategic payer contacts.
• Collaborate with Brand Management, Market Access, Sales Leadership, Medical Affairs, Commercial Operations, and Business Unit leadership.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs; Assoc.+14 yrs; M.S.+7 yrs; PhD+6 yrs).
• 10 years of relevant experience.
• 6 years of demonstrated leadership.
• Ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%.
• Experience leading national Field Reimbursement, Market Access, or Patient Access organizations that support multiple products, therapeutic areas, or business units.
• Experience supporting branded pharmaceutical products in highly competitive therapeutic markets.
• Knowledge of specialty pharmacy operations, patient support programs, reimbursement assistance services, and healthcare access solutions.
• Experience collaborating with payer organizations, specialty pharmacies, reimbursement support vendors, healthcare providers, and national accounts.
• Demonstrated success in developing scalable reimbursement and patient access strategies.
• Experience utilizing market intelligence, access analytics, and payer landscape insights.
• Proven track record of building inclusive, high-performing teams.
• Experience implementing talent development, succession planning, and organizational capability-building initiatives.
• Background in specialty therapeutics, biologics, rare disease, ophthalmology, immunology, oncology, or other complex reimbursement environments.
