Director, Field Reimbursement Capabilities

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the Respiratory Field Reimbursement team through Senior Managers who supervise Field Reimbursement Managers.

• Establish the vision, operational model, priorities, and performance standards for the capability.

• Foster strong leadership and convert enterprise access strategies into effective field actions.

• Leverage market intelligence and performance metrics to enhance patient access and customer satisfaction.

• Tackle access challenges and create a scalable framework for payer changes, new indications, and expansion.

• Lead, mentor, and hold Senior Managers accountable for their performance.

• Cultivate effective FRM teams by setting goals, providing feedback, enabling development, and implementing performance standards.

• Integrate field activities, customer insights, access trends, capacity, and business results through performance frameworks.

• Utilize analytics, reporting, CRM, and data quality insights to pinpoint gaps and direct actions.

• Maintain expertise in Specialty Pharmacy and Buy & Bill reimbursement.

• Track trends in payers, channels, competitors, and stakeholders, providing actionable recommendations.

• Ensure compliant access experiences through reimbursement knowledge, customer engagement, issue resolution, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Align efforts with Sales, Key Account Management, Market Access, Medical, Patient Services/HUB, Operations, Training, Legal, Compliance, and other partners.

• Prepare executive-level presentations and business reviews while incorporating field insights in senior forums.

• Lead preparations for new indications, product launches, geographic expansions, and evolving access models.

• Promote operational excellence through resource allocation, capacity planning, escalation management, technology integration, and follow-up.

• Spend time in the field mentoring leaders, evaluating execution, enhancing capabilities, and reinforcing key priorities.


⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate degree; OR a Master’s degree with 5 years of customer service and/or leadership experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of customer service and/or leadership experience; OR an Associate’s degree with 12 years of customer service and/or leadership experience; OR a high school diploma / GED with 14 years of customer service and/or leadership experience.

• At least eight years of progressive experience in field leadership, market access, reimbursement, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or a related field.

• Proven experience in managing field-based teams and developing leaders, including direct management of people leaders or managers.

• In-depth knowledge of Specialty Pharmacy and Buy & Bill reimbursement, including dual-benefit product models.

• Strong skills in strategic planning, analytical reasoning, and business acumen.

• Familiarity with reimbursement, payer policies, coverage, coding, payment, distribution, and affordability in Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid contexts.

• Experience in building and leading high-performing teams through coaching, performance management, talent development, and accountability.

• Capability to set priorities, translate strategies into execution, and manage complex priorities within a matrixed organization.

• Exceptional executive communication skills, both written and verbal, along with presentation and facilitation abilities.

• Proficiency in synthesizing complex information into clear recommendations and engaging with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Ability to lead through influence and establish trusted relationships across various functions.

• Commitment to maintaining ethical, legal, and compliance standards.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% via automobile or plane.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.
