Director – End Market Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Formulate and execute a multi-year strategy for the development and support of recycling infrastructure that aligns with organizational Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) targets and material-specific objectives.

• Differentiate between CAA expenditures and those incurred by external third-party entities.

• Identify optimal partner companies and spearhead engagement initiatives to foster growth and development.

• Evaluate business cases, feasibility reports, and capital plans submitted by facility operators and service providers.

• Assist the VP of End Markets in building and maintaining relationships with the executive teams of recycling facilities.

• Collaborate on gathering and analyzing current end-market capacity data.

• Supervise technical audits and environmental assessments conducted by third parties.

• Structure and negotiate funding agreements, grants, and performance-based contracts with operators of recycling facilities.

• Review the performance of facilities in relation to established KPIs outlined in agreements.

• Identify underperforming investments and formulate remediation plans or exit strategies.

• Evaluate the recycling infrastructure landscape to identify gaps and opportunities.

• Pinpoint key partners and potential investors for new applications, facilities, and expansions.

• Cultivate relationships with funders, partners, and industry trade associations.

• Collaborate with Compliance & Regulatory Affairs, Data & Analytics, Finance, and Legal teams.

• Represent the organization at industry conferences and government working groups.

• Report directly to the VP of End Markets.

• Oversee team performance, objectives, scope of work coverage, and the retention and development of direct reports.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is mandatory.

• More than 10 years of operational experience in business development and expansion, preferably within recycling facilities or related sectors.

• At least 3 years of leadership experience is essential.

• In-depth knowledge of EPR regulatory frameworks across various U.S. jurisdictions.

• Proficiency in business case analysis and risk assessment.

• Technical expertise in recycling end-market dynamics and process technologies.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to synthesize complex technical, financial, and regulatory information.

• Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.

• Experience in developing recycling solutions for end markets related to materials.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effective collaboration with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance.

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with adaptability.

• Must possess or be eligible to obtain a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
