Director, Email & Lifecycle Marketing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Implement the newsletter program as a top-performing media channel, enhancing sponsored placements and commissionable offers.

• Provide guidance to Ad Sales and Merchant teams regarding inventory, placement, and best practices for campaigns.

• Report on program and placement performance to partners and leadership using reliable metrics.

• Take ownership of the execution and performance of each campaign, translating results into best-practice recommendations.

• Propose and implement the global newsletter strategy and roadmap across 22 markets.

• Develop campaign and inventory calendars tailored for each market.

• Oversee campaigns from planning stages through to sending and post-send analysis.

• Create, QA, schedule, and launch newsletter and email campaigns within the ESP.

• Manage dynamic offer placements along with segment/client targeting and suppression.

• Create mobile-first templates and conduct ongoing A/B testing.

• Be responsible for inbox placement, sender reputation, and deliverability across all sending domains and markets.

• Manage IP/domain warm-up, authentication, list hygiene, audience data quality, and feedback loops.

• Act as the internal expert on deliverability and requirements from mailbox providers.

• Design and implement activation, welcome, re-engagement, and win-back journeys.

• Take charge of audience segmentation and personalization based on market, client, and member behavior.

• Manage product marketing and go-to-market email sends for BenefitHub products and verticals.

• Define and monitor performance, engagement, deliverability, and lifecycle KPIs.

• Lead performance updates for marketing leadership, the executive team, and the broader company.

• Ensure that advertiser- and partner-facing metrics are accurate and account for invalid traffic.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of email marketers and specialists.

• Enhance intake, QA, approvals, and reporting processes.

• Manage relationships with ESP, CDP, and deliverability-tool vendors.

• Support ESP strategy, capability evaluation, and platform migration.

• Ensure compliance with CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR, and subscription/preference requirements.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 9 years of hands-on experience in email, CRM, or lifecycle marketing within a high-volume program.

• Proven experience in monetizing newsletters or email audiences through sponsored placements and/or commissionable/affiliate revenue.

• In-depth, practical knowledge of email deliverability, compliance, and reputation management.

• Experience with IP/domain warm-up, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, list hygiene, and relationships with mailbox providers.

• Proficient in a major enterprise ESP and CDP/marketing-automation stack; current tools include Iterable and Lytics.

• Experience in segmentation, dynamic content, automation, lifecycle journeys, behavioral targeting, and reporting.

• Demonstrated success in managing and developing a high-performing team.

• Strong expertise in segmentation, personalization, automation workflows, triggered campaigns, and A/B testing methodologies.

• Advanced knowledge of marketing analytics, attribution modeling, and performance measurement.

• Experience in building KPIs and dashboards and translating performance data into actionable insights.

• Ability to distinguish genuine engagement from invalid traffic.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• Preferred: background in ecommerce, marketplaces, perks/benefits, affiliate, deals, or media/ad monetization companies.

• Preferred: understanding of the HR, benefits, and employee engagement landscape.

• Preferred: experience with multi-tenant programs, product marketing/GTM email, global multi-market programs, and evaluating or migrating ESPs.
