Director, Donor Stewardship and Engagement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Supervise the development and establishment of a comprehensive multi-channel donor stewardship program.

• Direct the creation, management, implementation, execution, and assessment of donor stewardship programs, processes, and systems across the organization.

• Enhance comprehensive stewardship strategies for all donor tiers.

• Collaborate with Development team leaders to lead strategic planning for donor stewardship.

• Create and execute initiatives aimed at donor cultivation, recognition, acknowledgment, and stewardship.

• Introduce innovative strategies to enhance the pipeline for principal and major gifts.

• Foster relationships with top donors and acknowledge leadership gifts.

• Encourage ongoing transformational support for USO fundraising objectives.

• Formulate and implement multi-channel strategies that communicate the impact of gifts to donors and their families.

• Develop, enforce, and supervise donor stewardship policies and procedures, including gift compliance, administration, and donor reporting standards.

• Ensure timely and impactful acknowledgment of gifts at all donation levels.

• Oversee the execution of stewardship strategies across all development teams and directly managed personnel.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

• Master's Degree is preferred.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating donor stewardship strategies, initiatives, and programs.

• At least 5 years in a supervisory role.

• Proven success in executing innovative donor stewardship strategic approaches.

• Familiarity with relationship management strategies and technologies, pipeline development, and donor engagement communications.

• Capability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Ability to engage with USO Leadership, the public, and military audiences with integrity and professionalism.

• Sound judgment regarding controversial and/or culturally sensitive topics.

• Capacity to handle confidential information with discretion and composure.

• Initiative, self-motivation, and meticulous attention to detail.

• Proficient in managing multiple projects with competing priorities.

• Adaptability to changing organizational needs.

• Proficiency in using computers and electronic equipment.

• Familiarity with software, applications, and programs, including Microsoft Office Suite.

• Experience with Raiser's Edge is preferred.

• Skills in analysis, problem-solving, strategic goal-setting, business planning, and effective implementation of new programs or services.

• Experience in strategic planning with the ability to quantify measurable short- and long-term goals.

• Eligibility to obtain and maintain credentials necessary for access to USO Center locations and facilities, including security, credit and/or background screening, SOFA status, and a valid driver's license.

• Strong commitment to advocating for the USO's mission.
