Director, Digital Product Portfolio Enablement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Propel the advancement of product management at Amgen by enhancing connections between digital product strategy, business outcomes, portfolio priorities, governance, and investment decisions.

• Synchronize digital product strategy with desired outcomes across Business, Product Management, Technology, and Finance departments.

• Design, organize, lead, and continuously refine Technology Portfolio Reviews for senior executives.

• Assist portfolio leaders in defining functional digital strategy, technology direction, investment priorities, AI and data opportunities, risks, dependencies, and value realization.

• Create forum structures, storylines, evidence, decision points, trade-offs, and follow-through mechanisms.

• Enhance executive narratives and materials that are ready for leadership review.

• Establish and refine Monthly Business Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews, and related product operating rhythms.

• Define the rigor of product management for recurring reviews, including outcomes, strategy, roadmaps, OKRs, KPIs, priorities, risks, investment choices, and value realization.

• Advance Amgen’s Product Management Outcomes Journey, governance, decision rights, escalation methods, and prioritization practices.

• Identify obstacles to outcome-driven product management and enhance the Digital Product Operating Model.

• Implement generative AI, coding agents, automation, and integrated data workflows for executive and portfolio preparation.

• Automate data aggregation, performance synthesis, trend and risk identification, narrative drafting, and presentation development.

• Collaborate with Technology, AI, Data, Product Operations, Finance, Results Delivery Office, and Technology Transformation teams.

• Act as a trusted advisor and facilitator for digital product leaders, influencing across organizational boundaries.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate degree with 4 years of experience in Digital Product Management, Product Operations, Digital Transformation, or related management consulting experience; OR Master’s degree with 8 years of experience; OR Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of experience.

• A minimum of 4 years’ experience directly managing individuals and/or leadership experience in guiding teams, projects, programs, or directing resource allocation.

• Over 6 years of progressive experience in digital product management, digital product strategy, portfolio management, digital transformation, management consulting, or related fields.

• At least 3 years of management consulting experience, preferably with a focus on digital transformation at a leading strategy consulting firm.

• Experience in designing, scaling, or operationalizing product operating models in large, complex organizations.

• Strong grasp of digital product management practices, including product strategy, roadmaps, OKRs, KPIs, prioritization, portfolio planning, and value measurement.

• Proven experience in designing, preparing, facilitating, and continually enhancing product governance sessions, portfolio reviews, or executive operating cadences.

• Outstanding executive presentation, storytelling, and facilitation abilities.

• Strong structured problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent cross-functional leadership skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

• Experience with generative AI, automation, coding agents, analytics, or workflow tools is highly desirable.

• Background in healthcare, biotechnology, or other regulated industries is preferred.

• Ability to operate in ambiguous situations and develop new capabilities.

• Demonstrated leadership in influencing complex enterprise cross-functional initiatives, executive stakeholders, product portfolios, or enterprise transformation efforts.
