Director, Data & Integrations – EDI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Supervise and prioritize the tasks of the EDI development team

• Ensure that client timelines are comprehended and adhered to for new development initiatives

• Collaborate on requirements, timelines, technical challenges, implementation efforts, and operational support with leads from implementation and operations

• Engage in client calls when necessary

• Manage EDI Jira instance processes, activities, and access; verify ticket documentation and work queues

• Facilitate CDM design sessions and assess strategies based on EHR requirements

• Direct the architecture for legacy CDM and extraction modifications

• Offer technical direction and design advice for new EDI functionalities

• Uphold and advocate for departmental standards and coding practices

• Coordinate Mirth Connect renewal, upgrade strategies, and cross-team implementation efforts

• Mentor and cross-train EDI team members while organizing backup coverage

• Represent the EDI team in Agile Scrum planning, backlog discussions, sprint reviews, and management status updates

• Generate and sustain automated reporting that imports active Jira entities and accounts into Jira Assets for the Product Support Portal

• Produce quarterly Source Authority outputs for contractual reporting regarding licensed third-party data

• Manage responses to ad-hoc operational data inquiries concerning imports and extracts

• Act as a technical liaison with trading partners and other organizations, including handling escalated or complex issues

• Utilize, safeguard, and disclose PHI in alignment with HIPAA regulations

• Adhere to Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures

• Restrict PHI access to the minimum necessary for designated responsibilities

• Perform additional tasks as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience

• 7 years of experience in Data Integrations and 3-4 years in the Healthcare sector

• Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience required

• Required hands-on experience with Mirth Connect

• Over 5 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL required

• More than 5 years of experience with C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, or Java required

• Experience in software troubleshooting and knowledge of relevant data privacy practices and laws

• Proven track record in implementing enterprise-scale, high-volume, high-availability systems

• Demonstrated capability to deliver significant critical projects

• Familiarity with software development life cycle phases, particularly functional requirements, software development, and unit testing

• Experience with software development methodologies, especially Agile

• Experience in providing leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a team

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

• Strong problem-solving abilities, creativity, sound judgment, and capacity to make decisions based on precise and timely analyses

• High integrity and dependability, coupled with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation

• Must have a smartphone or electronic device capable of downloading applications for multifactor authentication and security purposes

• Knowledge of ANSI ASC X12 healthcare formats: 837P, 837I, 835, and 834

• Understanding of HL7 standards and healthcare data exchange formats, including HL7 v2 messaging

• Experience with PowerShell or Bash/Linux shell scripting

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL

• Experience in Test Driven Development and automated unit testing

• Two years of experience working on Agile teams, developing Epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria

• Experience with Java and Maven

• Certifications in Microsoft SQL Server, Mirth Certification, Azure, Elasticsearch, and/or MongoDB experience are advantages
