This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Formulate and execute regional reputation strategies for the greater New York area.

• Oversee therapeutic flagship programs involving multiple stakeholders and ensure collaboration with commercial teams.

• Develop and implement strategies for community engagement in the region.

• Act as a registered lobbyist for the region and spearhead state-level lobbying efforts.

• Incorporate state policy across public and private payers to enhance brand accessibility.

• Lead initiatives focused on early diagnosis in collaboration with public health officials, patient advocacy groups, and subject matter experts.

• Establish and nurture relationships with elected officials, governors, executive agencies, trade associations, think tanks, and third-party partners.

• Drive engagement with national political organizations and committees.

• Promote sustainability and health equity initiatives.

• Engage in PAC grassroots fundraising efforts and organize as well as attend fundraising events.

• Foster positive community ecosystems and support initiatives for expansion within the US.

• Provide leadership on local state public policy matters and act as a legislative strategy expert.

• Align state-related business objectives across commercial, market access, legal, sales, and marketing teams.

• Evaluate legislative and regulatory initiatives as well as emerging issues impacting the company.

• Create legislative and regulatory strategies that align with brand goals.

• Manage resources, budgets, contract lobbyists, strategic alliance managers, and consultant evaluations.

• Assist with PAC education and recruitment efforts.

• Coordinate with Corporate Affairs partners and federal government affairs lobbyists.

• Formulate strategies to address the Inflation Reduction Act and other federal mandates.

• Integrate AstraZeneca's business objectives and emerging political challenges into regional strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.

• 6–8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry.

• This is a field-based role.

• Excellent public speaking abilities.

• Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.

• Familiarity with legislative, regulatory, and political processes.

• Robust internal stakeholder and alliance-building skills.

• Capability to accommodate lobbyists' travel and schedules, including late-night, off-hour, and weekend commitments.

• Up to 40% travel is required.

• Desirable: 8+ years of experience in government, politics, or government affairs, with at least 6 years in the biopharmaceutical or related sectors.

• Desirable: Strong interpersonal communication, public speaking, and writing abilities.

• Desirable: Experience managing large public affairs projects that enhance corporate visibility, growth, and expansion.

• Desirable: In-depth knowledge of the healthcare industry, especially regarding public and private payers, supply chains, and the impact of state/federal politics on the pharmaceutical sector.

• Desirable: Experience in collaboration across sales, market access, medical affairs, and corporate affairs functions.

• Desirable: Proficiency in standard business software applications.

• Desirable: Experience in ally development, public relations, and healthcare policy.
