This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
β’ Provide leadership and cultivate the development of other leaders through mentoring and comprehensive construction management guidance in a designated market segment or specific projects.
β’ Implement best practices, ensure process utilization, and uphold quality, safety, and risk management protocols.
β’ Guarantee adherence to the company's core values and principles.
β’ Establish and nurture strategic client partnerships to foster mutual trust and respect.
β’ Take full ownership of assigned clients and cultivate exceptional client relationships.
β’ Conduct regular meetings with clients to identify their needs and success metrics, evaluate performance, and enhance the customer's business.
β’ Oversee construction activities through project managers and on-site supervision.
β’ Ensure projects define objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards, and are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with corporate policies.
β’ Create safety and quality programs and foster a culture of excellence among project teams and initiatives.
β’ Confirm that project managers meet client quality and safety metrics.
β’ Supervise the internal financial management of project managers, encompassing receivables, budgets, cash flow, income/expenses, cost-to-completes, cost management reports, and related controls.
β’ Mentor subordinate project managers through performance evaluations, coaching, mentoring, formal training, and varied work experiences.
β’ Evaluate candidates as potential successors for Director of Construction roles.
β’ Collaborate with general superintendents and peer Directors of Construction on the selection of project managers and site teams.
β’ Administer wage reviews, work assignments, bonus evaluations, and internal promotions.
β’ Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
β’ A minimum of five years of directly applicable experience with large, complex mega projects.
β’ Proven skills or knowledge in construction techniques, estimating, construction management, financial management, construction design, and administrative functions.
β’ Demonstrated experience in directly managing multiple project teams simultaneously.
β’ Strong grasp of construction engineering and design principles.
β’ Familiarity with electrical construction and power delivery systems.
β’ Conceptual aptitude and ability to formulate comprehensive work plans and management schedules.
β’ Understanding of estimating strategies and methodologies.
β’ Knowledge of construction contracts, regulations, and cost control systems.
β’ Exceptional written, presentation, and verbal communication abilities.
β’ Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to organize, mobilize, and motivate team members to quickly adapt to changes in the construction schedule.
β’ Conflict management skills are essential.
β’ Capacity to strategically operate within an approved budget, conserve resources, and contribute to profits and revenue.
β’ Excellent organizational, supervisory, and decision-making/problem-solving skills.
β’ Proficient in computer skills (Microsoft Office suite, Primavera, and CTC net).
β’ Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are required.
β’ Willingness to travel extensively.
β’ Experience with large, complex mega projects, including utility-scale renewable energy initiatives.
β’ PMP Certification is preferred.
