Director, Compensation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of a comprehensive compensation strategy from start to finish

• Develop and implement annual and mid-year compensation cycles

• Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Finance, Legal, and senior leadership

• Provide guidance on executive offers, retention strategies, organizational changes, and pay equity matters

• Initiate modifications to equity compensation design and communication

• Lead and nurture a high-performing team of compensation business partners

• Retain individual-contributor responsibilities in the role of a compensation business partner

• Oversee compensation initiatives for international expansion, including frameworks, market data, and guidance for new regions

• Report directly to the Head of Total Rewards

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of progressive experience in compensation

• Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role managing personnel

• Proven history of supporting extensive R&D or Engineering divisions

• Experience advising VP/SVP-level executives on intricate compensation matters

• In-depth knowledge of equity compensation design and strategy

• Background in a technology firm where equity is a key component of the compensation philosophy

• Experience in creating scalable compensation programs, including job architecture, market pricing, performance cycles, and pay-for-performance frameworks

• Proficient in spreadsheet tools such as Google Sheets and Excel

• Strong interest in leveraging AI and technology to enhance compensation functions

• Preferred: Experience in supporting Sales/GTM client groups alongside R&D

• Preferred: Familiarity with executive compensation design and strategy

• Preferred: Experience with international compensation

• Preferred: Knowledge of Tableau, SQL, or Python
