This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Supervise the community engagement team and assist in steering the organization's strategic vision for its global community, which encompasses chapters, councils, and digital communities.
• Reformulate the community framework to adapt to organizational growth and the changing needs of regional members.
• Create and spearhead IMA’s enterprise community engagement strategy that aligns with organizational priorities, mission goals, growth initiatives, and reputation objectives.
• Act as the senior enterprise leader who integrates community engagement, customer experience, and external engagement strategies.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Brand leaders to effectively communicate IMA’s educational offerings and comprehensive value proposition to members.
• Design and manage enterprise community engagement campaigns that enhance IMA’s visibility, mission, and global impact.
• Ensure that local stakeholder engagement and communities are in line with the enterprise's vision and mission.
• Convert regional research into globally consistent, market-distinct go-to-market engagement models with phased delivery strategies.
• Collaborate with the My IMA 2.0 initiative to co-create community engagement and broader membership experiences.
• Oversee community engagement operations across more than 200 student and professional chapters globally, as well as the U.S. Council structure.
• Manage volunteer training, compliance documentation, issue resolution, chapter/council financial programs, recognition initiatives, payment processing, international chapter deferred banking, and invoicing for international chapter expenses.
• Work alongside the governance team to ensure that chapters, councils, online communities, and Shared Interest Groups comply with local laws and ethical standards.
• Design and conduct ongoing volunteer training for chapter leaders, committee/SIG leaders, moderators, and advocates.
• Build and maintain relationships with chapter and council leaders as well as volunteer stakeholders.
• Ensure a respectful and productive collaboration between staff and volunteers as the operational model evolves.
• Enhance and diversify the volunteer pipeline in terms of skills, experience, and geography.
• Establish clear reporting structures, escalation procedures, and knowledge sharing across the community engagement function.
• Minimum of 7 years in community engagement or association management.
• Proven experience in building or scaling communities in both physical and digital spaces.
• Experience working within culturally and geographically diverse markets.
• Background in leading organizational change, such as establishing new teams, redesigning operational frameworks, or restructuring functional delivery.
• Knowledge of volunteer motivation, recognition, and incentive design.
• Experience in volunteer recruitment, resource allocation, and appreciation programs.
• Strong project management abilities, including budget forecasting and managing cross-functional projects.
• Demonstrated success in leading distributed teams.
• CAE (Certified Association Executive) designation preferred.

• Possess empathy, patience, and self-awareness.
• Emotionally intelligent and respectful.
• Occasional travel may be required.
