This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Identify, nurture, and establish partnerships with universities that enhance college enrollment and completion rates for KIPP students and alumni.
• Strengthen existing collaborations, revive inactive partnerships, and create new connections with national universities, regional institutions, HBCUs, and HSIs.
• Develop, negotiate, and finalize Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) that include clear commitments and measurable, mutually beneficial goals.
• Manage MOUs, ensure agreement fulfillment, and adjust commitments as circumstances, outcomes, and needs evolve.
• Collaborate with the national College Advancement Team and regional KIPP Forward teams to incorporate partnerships into student advising and matching strategies.
• Share work and best practices with fellow Directors of College Partnerships.
• Enhance institutional memory regarding strategies, plans, successes, and challenges with college partners.
• Assist in codifying best practices.
• Contribute to the College Partnerships strategy, which includes partnership criteria, MOU frameworks, objectives, benchmarks, and accountability measures.
• Monitor and analyze portfolio-level data to guide strategic partnership decisions.
• Report to the VP of College Partnerships and collaborate with the College Advancement and Partnerships team.
• Preferred experience in supporting students facing economic barriers and/or first-generation college students.
• 7 or more years of experience in building and managing a portfolio of partnerships, ideally with colleges/universities or charter schools across multiple states.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in developing and maintaining MOUs or institutional agreements.
• Proven ability to use data for identifying trends, informing decisions, and driving results.
• Strong track record of achieving and exceeding ambitious objectives.
• Experience working collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders to implement initiatives and achieve goals.
• A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• Exceptional partnership and alliance-building capabilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Effective skills in collaboration and relationship-building.
• Strong self-management abilities to meet ambitious goals.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Willingness to travel extensively: approximately 30–50% (65–110 days per year).
• Availability for occasional evening or weekend work.
