Director, Client Coding Integration

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee coding integration initiatives for physician billing clients during onboarding, acquisitions, conversions, and operational shifts.

• Act as the primary subject matter expert in coding throughout implementation and transition processes.

• Evaluate coding workflows, policies, procedures, and operational frameworks for enhancement and standardization.

• Create post-integration action plans that support quality, productivity, compliance, and financial performance.

• Facilitate organizational readiness through training, communication, workflow design, and stakeholder engagement.

• Offer expertise in ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, modifier application, documentation requirements, and regulatory compliance.

• Track coding quality, productivity, audit results, and operational performance metrics.

• Assist in developing corrective action plans related to coding quality, documentation, and compliance issues.

• Support both internal and external audits and ensure adherence to federal, state, payer, and regulatory standards.

• Examine coding trends, denials, edits, and revenue cycle indicators to determine root causes and provide recommendations.

• Collaborate with Revenue Cycle teams to enhance reimbursement accuracy, minimize denials, and improve operational efficiency.

• Provide assistance to clients with coding workflow redesign, process enhancements, and operational transformations.

• Promote automation, reporting, and technological solutions that enhance coding performance.

• Establish partnerships with physicians, operational leaders, coding teams, compliance departments, and client stakeholders.

• Advise on physician coding operations and relevant regulatory requirements.

• Report operational updates, implementation progress, risks, and suggestions to leadership.

• Ensure effective communication between internal and external stakeholders during implementation activities.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or a comparable combination of education and experience.

• At least 7 years of progressive experience in healthcare coding, physician billing, revenue cycle, or health information management.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in leadership, consulting, project management, or implementation roles.

• Comprehensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, Evaluation & Management (E/M) coding, professional fee billing, and reimbursement methodologies.

• Experience in supporting physician practice operations, professional coding programs, or multispecialty physician groups.

• Strong grasp of healthcare compliance, regulatory requirements, and payer guidelines.

• Proven ability to lead complex projects and influence stakeholders across various departments.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% within the assigned state and client locations.

• Must hold one or more active coding credentials: CPC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA.

• Preferred: experience in supporting large-scale physician practice integrations, acquisitions, or implementation projects.

• Preferred: familiarity with Epic, Cerner, Meditech, Athena, eClinicalWorks, or other major healthcare platforms.

• Preferred: experience in revenue integrity, coding compliance, auditing, provider education, or CDI.

• Preferred: experience in managing client-facing healthcare operations.

• Preferred: knowledge of AI-enabled tools, coding automation technologies, Power BI, Copilot, or workflow optimization solutions.

• Preferred: experience in supporting multi-state or national healthcare operations.
