This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Identify and assess potential business development opportunities by monitoring the disease landscape, engaging both internally and externally, attending conferences, and participating in partnering events.
• Establish best practices and maintain an up-to-date database of business development opportunities, including company and asset details, project status, timelines, next steps, and relevant documents.
• Create standardized summaries of new business development opportunities to aid in comparison and prioritization.
• Manage incoming opportunities and provide prompt, informed feedback.
• Conduct preliminary evaluations by facilitating reviews with internal subject matter experts and external partners.
• Evaluate strategic fit, synergies, scientific rationale, likelihood of clinical and regulatory success, and commercial potential.
• Deliver regular opportunity summaries and status updates to leadership.
• Present findings and recommendations for finalized evaluations.
• Oversee diligence efforts and incorporate scientific, clinical, medical, and regulatory insights into assessments.
• Spearhead scientific competitive intelligence initiatives across targeted indications, emerging technologies, and market dynamics.
• Share competitive intelligence updates and insights with leadership.
• Construct Excel-based patient adoption models considering epidemiology, target populations, unmet needs, competitive threats, and reimbursement assumptions.
• Collaborate with the M&A team to transition opportunities into formal due diligence, lead scientific assessments, and contribute to business case development and valuations.
• Cultivate relationships with pharmaceutical and biotech firms, academic institutions, venture capitalists, incubators, and global innovation ecosystems.
• Enhance Angelini Pharma’s standing as a preferred strategic partner.
• An advanced scientific degree is required.
• A doctorate degree is preferred.
• 5–7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech sector or life science strategy/consulting is necessary.
• Experience in rare diseases is preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience conducting due diligence evaluations of pharmaceutical/biotech companies and assets to support licensing, acquisition, and partnership opportunities is required.
• Proficiency in competitive intelligence databases, including AlphaSense, Biomedtracker, Evaluate, Global Data, Pharmaprojects, and IPD Analytics.
• A strong grasp of the drug development process from pre-clinical stages through to approval across R&D, regulatory, medical affairs, manufacturing, quality, commercial, and advocacy functions.
• Advanced Excel skills, particularly in developing patient adoption models and revenue forecasts.
• Expertise in creating concise, executive-level presentations and strategic messaging using PowerPoint.
• Preferred experience with AI-enabled tools and technologies to improve search, evaluation, and analytical capabilities.
• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong independent research and analytical abilities.
• Capacity to synthesize large volumes of information into clear messaging.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, both internal and external.
• Competence to consistently produce high-quality work while managing multiple projects with minimal supervision.
