This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take a leadership role or contribute significantly to business development initiatives, which encompass in-licensing, out-licensing, co-development, and co-commercialization agreements, research collaborations, platform partnerships, option-based deals, supply agreements, geographic licensing arrangements, joint ventures, and structured transactions.
• Facilitate cross-functional due diligence involving R&D, technical operations/CMC, clinical, regulatory, legal, IP, finance, commercial, and executive leadership teams.
• Create business cases, valuation frameworks, competitive analyses, and transaction justifications.
• Structure, negotiate, and complete term sheets, letters of intent, confidentiality agreements, and definitive contracts.
• Assist in preparing presentations and recommendations for senior management, executive committees, and the Board of Directors.
• Establish and nurture relationships with peers in biotechnology, pharmaceutical firms, and academic institutions.
• Act as a primary contact for both current and potential partners.
• Aid in alliance transitions and governance after agreements are signed.
• Collaborate with leaders across research, development, manufacturing, commercial, finance, legal, intellectual property, investor relations, and corporate strategy.
• Propel internal consensus on external opportunities by integrating scientific, clinical, strategic, operational, and financial insights.
• Contribute to portfolio prioritization, long-term planning, and strategic assessments.
• Develop financial models to evaluate potential transactions.
• Report directly to the CFO.
• Bachelor’s degree with over 8 years of experience in business development within the biotech or life sciences sectors, emphasizing technology licensing, research collaborations, and strategic transactions.
• Comprehensive understanding of the scientific, clinical, and regulatory factors that enhance value in therapeutic development.
• Capability to engage credibly with R&D and development teams.
• Demonstrated success in negotiating and closing complex transactions.
• Strong strategic judgment coupled with financial and transactional expertise.
• Ability to distill scientific, clinical, and financial data into clear recommendations for senior leadership.
• Executive-level visibility and discretion are essential.
• Experience in managing confidential processes with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong cross-functional instincts and the ability to foster alignment across diverse teams.
• An MBA, MD, or PhD is preferred.
• Periodic travel to team and company events.
