This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Identify promising companies, emerging constellations, and new mission opportunities throughout the Americas.
• Establish early connections and comprehend customer strategies, funding, technical roadmaps, and mission plans.
• Actively generate opportunities prior to the existence of formal requirements or RFPs.
• Cultivate relationships with founders, CEOs, CTOs, engineering leaders, mission owners, and senior decision-makers.
• Tailor solutions that align Loft’s capabilities with the business and technical strategies of customers.
• Guide opportunities from initial concept through pathfinder missions, demonstrations, initial missions, repeat missions, and constellation-scale programs.
• Manage opportunities through qualification, solution development, proposal creation, commercial negotiation, contracting, and closure.
• Forge strategic partnerships with spacecraft manufacturers, launch providers, data and analytics companies, systems integrators, and other ecosystem collaborators.
• Transform successful initial missions into enduring customer relationships and additional spacecraft, missions, payloads, services, or constellation deployments.
• Keep abreast of market intelligence concerning the commercial space ecosystem, funding activities, mission architectures, competitive dynamics, and customer requirements.
• Coordinate technical, commercial, and operational stakeholders to convert vague customer needs into actionable programs.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and teams across sales engineering, product development, engineering, mission operations, and Loft’s international organization.
• 8+ years of experience in business development, strategic sales, partnerships, or a similar customer-facing role, with a proven track record of originating and closing complex opportunities.
• Profound understanding of the space industry and commercial space ecosystem, encompassing satellite operators, spacecraft manufacturers, launch providers, space data companies, and related technology and infrastructure providers.
• Demonstrated success as a net-new business developer and hunter—someone who has generated opportunities and attracted new customers rather than primarily managing an established portfolio.
• Experience in selling intricate technical products, services, or infrastructure through a consultative or solutions-oriented approach.
• Capability to earn credibility with senior executive and technical stakeholders, ranging from founders and CEOs to CTOs, engineering leaders, and program owners.
• Proven ability to effectively navigate ambiguous, early-stage opportunities where customer needs, solutions, or buying processes may not be clearly defined.
• Experience managing complex opportunities throughout the complete business development and sales cycle, including solution development, proposals, commercial negotiations, and contracting.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to prioritize opportunities based on strategic importance, likelihood of success, and long-term potential.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation abilities.
• Willingness to travel frequently to engage with customers and partners across the Americas.
• Existing relationships with commercial constellation companies, emerging space firms, or strategic players in the Americas space ecosystem.
• Experience marketing satellite, spacecraft, mission, launch, data, connectivity, or other space infrastructure services.
• Experience forming strategic partnerships or channel relationships that yield measurable commercial opportunities.
• Technical background in aerospace, space systems, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience working with venture-backed or rapidly scaling enterprises.
• Broad experience across various segments of the space ecosystem rather than being confined to a single product or customer category.
• Familiarity with mission-as-a-service, satellite-as-a-service, hosted payloads, or other infrastructure-based space business models.
• 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance options for employees and their dependents.
• Flexible Spending (FSA) and Health Savings (HSA) Accounts available with employer contributions to the HSA.
• Fully employer-covered Life, AD&D, Short-Term, and Long-Term Disability insurance.
• Flexible Time Off policy for vacation and sick leave, along with 12 paid holidays.
• 401(k) plan and equity options.
• Daily catered lunches and snacks.
• Opportunities for international exposure with our team in France.
• Fully compensated parental leave; 14 weeks for primary caregivers and 10 weeks for secondary caregivers.
• Carrot Fertility offers comprehensive, inclusive fertility healthcare and family-forming benefits with financial assistance.
• Off-site retreats and numerous social events and celebrations.
