This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee the front-end deal process from the initial executive presentation to contract negotiation and finalization.
• Ensure a smooth operational transition to relationship managers.
• Partner with teams in Finance, Pricing, Strategy, Product, and Operations to manage current clients and evaluate new opportunities.
• Build a team to strategically identify new prospects for Branded Network Sales.
• Collect real-time market insights from issuer prospect discussions.
• Assist internal product and strategy teams in enhancing network value propositions and market strategies.
• Promote issuer-bank adoption throughout the Discover Network.
• Foster collaborations with third-party issuers by pitching, negotiating, and closing agreements.
• Unite cross-functional teams to implement go-to-market strategies.
• Encourage sustained network growth.
• Directly report to the Vice President, Head of Branded Network Business Development.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in client-facing go-to-market roles such as Growth, Sales, Customer Success, or Revenue Operations.
• At least 3 years of experience in negotiation and deal structuring within B2B settings.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in people management.
• Demonstrated strategic sales, business development, and relationship management skills.
• Knowledge and connections within the banking and credit card sectors.
• Highly effective communication skills for both external and internal interactions.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating participation agreements, with an understanding of financial mechanisms and structures.
• Willingness to travel as required, up to 75% of the time.

• Preferred: Master's degree or MBA.
• Preferred: Experience within a payment network or a significant payments ecosystem company.
• Preferred: Strong analytical skills for data-driven problem solving and negotiations.
• Preferred: Proven outstanding written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Preferred: At least 5 years of experience in scaling a team of high-achieving associates.
