This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +2 more states.
β’ Lead the asset management strategy for multifamily, affordable housing, and LIHTC portfolios.
β’ Identify, track, and mitigate risks within the portfolio.
β’ Oversee performing assets and escalate any emerging risks as necessary.
β’ Act as the primary liaison for investors, borrowers, and internal stakeholders.
β’ Present portfolio performance, emerging risks, and recommendations to Senior Leadership through professionally prepared materials and presentations.
β’ Guide, develop, and mentor Managers and Asset Managers.
β’ Promote accountability, proactive risk management, and collaboration across functions.
β’ Establish and improve asset management policies, procedures, and control frameworks.
β’ Enhance systems, reporting, dashboards, and data quality.
β’ Lead cross-functional initiatives and process enhancements.
β’ Set and maintain credit governance standards and approval processes for high-risk assets and complex transactions.
β’ Oversee portfolio surveillance, management of the Watchlist, and alignment of risk ratings with Credit, Legal, Servicing, and Finance.
β’ Improve risk reporting, early-warning indicators, escalation protocols, and transitions between performing and risk portfolios.
β’ Collaborate with borrowers, guarantors, government entities, developers, owners, property managers, and Agency partners such as Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA.
β’ Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
β’ Over 10 years of experience in multifamily real estate asset management, with a strong emphasis on 7+ years of relevant experience also considered.
β’ Extensive knowledge of credit, property operations, Agency and banking product types, affordable housing, and LIHTC portfolios.
β’ Ability to convey complex credit and risk issues to Senior Leadership and prepare executive-level documents.
β’ Experience in leading and developing asset management teams.
β’ Strong analytical, financial, and decision-making skills.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of loan documentation, servicing agreements, and post-closing asset management practices.
β’ In-depth knowledge of multifamily housing operations, ownership structures, and regulatory frameworks for affordable housing.
β’ Capacity to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
β’ Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
β’ Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
β’ Ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
β’ Willingness to travel as required.
