Director, Analytics Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Lead a team of 6-10 engineers and future managers within Beacon's Analytics Systems Team.

• Mentor team members and support their professional development.

• Gain insights into team activities and products to enhance internal workflows and integration with Beacon.

• Uphold engineering standards and practices to ensure quality, productivity, and accountability.

• Define and prioritize tactical tasks in alignment with strategic goals and collaboration with other teams.

• Maintain a current, outcome-focused, and aligned development roadmap.

• Communicate the roadmap and priorities effectively to internal stakeholders.

• Manage project initiatives for the team, including defining scope, timelines, and expectations.

• Guide product direction and discovery for the Analytics Systems Team.

• Create processes and cross-functional relationships to enhance product understanding.

• Make prioritization decisions for significant customer and business challenges.

• Develop and implement a strategic vision for Analytics Systems that supports Life Science projects, diagnostic workflows, and biomarker discovery utilizing real-world data.

• Report directly to the VP of Analytics and Machine Learning at Beacon.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of management experience.

• Experience managing mid- to large-sized analytics engineering teams.

• Proficiency in analytics engineering, including tools like dbt and SQLMesh.

• Experience with data modeling and pipelines, including Snowflake, Databricks, Argo, and Airflow.

• Familiarity with BI tools such as Superset, Looker, and Tableau.

• Background in medical devices, clinical diagnostics, real-world data, pharma/biotech, or similar fields.

• Experience in regulated industries and managing strict design controls.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Capacity to align partners on decisions, tradeoffs, and evolving strategies.

• Ability to comprehend user requirements and translate them into prioritization strategies.

• Proven track record of anticipating organizational needs and opportunities.

• Experience in addressing bandwidth constraints, technical debt, and non-iterative processes.
